TRICKS OF THE TRADE

Since we have all these wonderful knowledged people here, I was hoping we can put our heads together and help each other out. whether it be how to bind keys, how to shoot demos, or on the forums how to make it show the name of the person who is reading it appear in a message.

What is a Trade Secret you can give up to help other people to get to your playing level.

I'll go first

Before entering into a server, type into console "lightgamma .1"
This will lighten the map so all the dark corners are see-able

To switch weopons in a hurry press "Q" thats the default it switches to the last weopon you had whether it be pistol or knife or your primary weopon oh yea or grenade

Throw a grenade, then press e to pick it up. Run with the grenade next to a player on the opposite team.

well since i like to kill as many people as possible in that game since and since its the only one I can get a positive score in im not sure if i want to tell. Also since there is nothing I do other than stopsound in consul man i need some more liquid courage

not really a tip,but what button selection i use for nade pickup. I use the right mouse button for pickups, i think the default for this is "E". and the right mouse is defaulted for secondary weapon. Its much easier to pickup an enemy grenade with the right mouse selection. ive actually stolen grenades from enemy hands as it was being released. I've been accused of cheating because i pickup so quickly but its just a quicker style.

I think all the HL1 games have been thoroughly picked apart. There aren't any more unknown cool tricks.

I was cracking up the other day, I played 1.3 on my 30" on 2560x1600 and everything kinda looked like legos. I played for about 1/2 an hour and got maybe 5 kills.... 4 were nade kills lol! So ya, I have seriously lost what ever feel I had for that game.

I know that is what I was doing yesterday Hard to break the habit If you have been playing a long time on one game and u keep dying go play another game and try again later.
