They have always broke more poop then fixed when it comes to updates. My server is flat out dead to the world right now. Infact, the third patch tonight threw my server into a violent loop sucking all cpu and memory and damn near crashed my hosts datacenter. Good job Valve!

Yeah, same here. Doesn't bother me too much, though. I think Vista just doesn't like the way the game shuts down so it thinks it crashed...

yup yup...i was thinking the same thing.

do you have a problem with the UAC blocking steam at startup? i've tried several times to correct it and the only thing that works is turning off UAC...then there's a different popup reminding that UAC is off....vista...gaw

That'd be great. I get the same thing with Vista. I usually crash after a few games, mostly when the map changes around the second or third time.

Really quick, where do I enter the -console -novid command again to not have to deal with faucethead every startup?

Sounds like you're referring to the famous Launch Options, available by right clicking on the game in Steam, going to Properties, and then selecting "Set launch options..."

um, okay, i'll just delete the clientregistery file and restart steam.

THIS GAME IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE.

well, maybe if I delete all the Steam files and force it to re-update.

THIS GAME IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE.

you know what, fine, i don't feel like playing TF2, i'll just use the internet.

THIS GAME IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE.

I'm pretty sure that means you have a connection problem to the master server

Anyone know how to resolve this? I just bought the game about a week ago and have been having the same issue that Rits describes. Every 2 or 3 map changes the game locks up on vista. I have to kill it and launch it again. I've tried several things that I've read in forums, but nothing seems to work. Any idea would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

try putting steam and all its executables in compatability mode with windows xp.

i heard vista can downtrack like xp does with win 98 and below.

i dont have vista, but i do believe this should fix yer problem.
