Im sorry I worded that wrong, you can disable steam community in game.

Steam - settings - in-game tab

Yep...unless you want to be known as "unnamed(1)"!

It also throws your Community avatar beside your name on the scoreboard!

I just love the stats! This is sooooo cool. HLStatsX has been a pain in the bum for a while and takes lots of setting up. In this game, no stats are necessary....they get added to your Steam Page!

Hence why I'm having so many problems!!! I swear its the community! If i play as "unknown" I don't crash, then I log into the steam/friends community, I CRASH soon thereafter

Is the spellchecker broken? Everytime I try to use it, it comes up blank. Does that mean everything is spelled correctly?

I still think fortress forever is better. TF2 has way too many sudden death overtimes for my tastes.
