Yeah you can play the BETA, I'm debating purchasing from steam.. I can just see the downloading being a pain itself, with all the people pre-ordering and well it being steam LOL. Downloading the whole package thru steam? Wonder how big the download is, anyone know? Wonder if there will be any servers available come monday.. or just valve servers?

You HAVE to buy the whole package to get just TF2.. they won't offer TF2 on it's own, the whole package or wait until release. Its basically buy all their crap and get the one game you want.

Well, you have to buy the "Orange Box" which is:

HL2:Ep2
Portal
TF2

I don't think you have to buy HL2 again. As for me, I want Episode 2 too. Portal (is that what it's called?) might be interesting.

The offer Steam is offering to people who want to play TF2 Beta on Monday have to buy HL2, HL2:Episode One as well to get in the beta and start playing monday when 90% of the people already have those games .

Yay, I just ordered the Orange thing and started pre-loading TF2! I was thinking about getting HL2 Episodes 1 and 2, and Portals anyway so it's a good deal.

yeah, any oldtimer here that doesn't at least give tf2 a shot needs to be stabbed and taught a lesson in ville history. so if its the only way to get tf2, i'd say its to their liking

It'll be released solo. There's no way they can force us to rebuy HL2 and HL2:EP1 without running into problems.

And why beta test for free for a game you have to pay to play?

Im sure they'll sell em seperately at an inflated price per.

I just want to be playing TF2 on day one. It means alot to me.
