End of the Line Update?
So I've been anxious for James McVinnie's (The guy who made Practical Problems for the comedy saxxy 2012) "End of the Line" animation, and I came across an interview James took in November. It turns out Valve might base an update on the short he's working on, bringing new maps and game modes that revolve around the animation. I will provide the links to the trailer to the "End of the Line" animation as well as the interview to shed some light on the subject.

Re: End of the Line Update?
How would something like this work in TF2? I mean I could potentially see an A/D take place on a speeding train, but I feel like TF2 isn't a place for a train robbery-style mission.
Unless they somehow plan on recreating Assault_Convoy from UT2004, now that would be awesome.

This is hard to be cool and suave while being informative at the same time. Goddamn my coolness.
In my experience, common sense isn't too common.

Looks interesting. Control point map on top of a moving train perhaps. Maybe something mvm related as well.
I spent so many hours playing AS-Convoy. Since its being discussed, here's a video I made back in the day regarding how that map worked, for those that never played it. Pardon the voice, I believe I used the games built in text to speech function.

I feel like I've played this before, quite a long time ago. Was it on TV4 back when it was the customs server?Plas wrote:Looks interesting. Control point map on top of a moving train perhaps. Maybe something mvm related as well.

Yes, there was a map with a control point on top of a train that moved back and forth. I remember that from Custom Map Night. Can't recall the map name though...

But bnb is referring to ctf_convoy, which I believe we did have (and still have) on the Custom map server.

A new crate has been added to the drop system. I didn't notice this until today, and it appears to be one of those crates that don't have a key yet, which means an update is soon on its way! My gut tells me its the End of the Line Update that's been causing much hype. Can't wait for it, for I am so excited!!!!!!!!!

Mann Co. Strongboxes have nothing to do with the EotL Update.

Sounding like it's still a long way away. I'm betting we don't see it before the summer, and wouldn't be surprised if it were much longer.Supreveio wrote:
