Hacking or not?

I was on tv7 a few different times yesterday, and a couple of times multiple (5) people obtained the same acheivement, then later on (3) people obtained a different achievement at the same exact time. Haven't seen this before, so thought I'd mention it.

i just read through the list of achieves, i cant remember. if i see it again ill screenshot. it was not the play with seven friends achieve,

Great. I don't want to say yes they are hacking, but I have noticed a lot of new people playing on our servers more recently. So could just be coincidence they were all doing the same.

some times it is group achievements "like cap a point in under 2 mins on X map" but I too have noticed that there has been quite a bit of that recently as well (though I think we were on the same server at the same time )

Based only on this information, I'd have to say it doesn't sound like it was likely hacking; it's quite common for a game event to trigger an achiement for many people at the same time (eg. defend dustbowl without giving up a single point).

Generally, I don't tend to think of achievements as an indicator of hacking.

I have a lot of tf2 hours under my belt, and since it happened multiple times in a span of a couple hours, which i don't recall witnessing such frequency before, i figured id post about it because I don't keep up with game hacking and what is the current hack 'o the day. Yes potato was on with me during foundry when it happened.

Foundry is a likely explanation - it's a map that has its own achievements, and which isn't all that common. Some of the achievements are definitely of the "everybody on the team who doesn't have it yet gets it together" variety.

This weekend in TV7 ran across 4 people all on the same team with the name "Rick" or (1) Rick, (2) Rick, etc. Seemed fishy, but they played nice.

Foundry seems to be the blame in this instance however.
