While I hate 2fort (not that I care for arena), I think there's going to be a ton more crossover between folks who'd want to play it with those who also want to play on our other severs that it makes a lot more sense than an arena server would.

I actually like 2fort. I will definitely consider playing some 2fort on the rare occasion that I get bored with Warpath.

I've noticed most people get great ping to this server...

including me. :)

It was difficult to seed.
Fix'd

Also, you give 2fort a second chance but not arena?

My observation of Arena is that it had an even shorter span of public interest than King of the Hill. Both have their small, niche core followings though.

Speaking as someone that lobbied and lobbied for a server set the way they wanted . . . it's really, really hard unless you have a bunch of people (not just a few) that really, really want to seed it regularly until it builds it's own population which can take months.

I like the way you think, Plinko.

I must admit, I personally wouldn't have time to seed a Ville arena server right now.

You can have arena maps interspersed between regular tf2 maps. Having a short 15minute arena session between longer maps is nice sometimes.

As for seeding servers, I notice when I get invited to tv1 for seeding, the people that are worth playing with usually bailout right after the server gets full and so what is the point. People who are not regulars use criteria like server ping and whether the server is somewhat full to initially get them in but once there, if the quality of play is mediocre or no admin is present then there is no reason to bookmark it.

We've done that before and it often leads to a big exodus since you first lose anyone who doesn't want to stay for arena and then when it changes again lose everyone who did want to play arena.

As for seeding, most folks that seed, do so on servers they want to play on (usually you'll only catch me trying to seed TV2, for example). We don't have a lot of folks that spend their evenings trying to seed the various servers as much as we used to, moving on as soon as one hits 20 or so.

I'll usually join TV1 and TV2 but I always leave TV1 after we get 24 or more people since I hate 32 man.

Dog did most of the work :)

Im been playing on some of the more popular 2fort servers to understand how they click.. so it will be a work in progress.

We all know many new players gravitate to 2fort. Would be great for new players to check out the ville too! :)

Just today we were helping some new tf2 players.
