9v9 Night

Post by Guardian » Mon Apr 27, 2009 11:38 am

Greetings Villuns!

Image

Every 1st and 3rd friday on: 8:00 CST

Next night: Friday August 21

On the TVX

First map of the night will be: cp_yukon

2nd map will be: TBA

Password: ville

Admin: KRG

This is a night where we organize teams of 9 each night and fight intense matches on preassigned maps. This event is open to all and there are no sign ups. Basically we get 18 villuns on the server, we get 2 teams, we plan a little and then we fight. The idea to get the same experience that we got in Total Warz but easier to organize.

KRG will be helping me out with this as I don't have awesome admin powers.

NEW FORMAT:

How it works:

1. During the warm-up period 2 captains will volunteer for the night

2. They'll take turns picking players by saying who they want in steam chat. Players won't be able to hear this.

The players will indicate what classes they want to play by either:

A: playing that class

B: Indicating it in their name like:

Guardian.TVR (Anything but sniper)
or
Infusions (medic)

3. Once the players have been picked over chat people will be told what team they are on by indicating if they are on blue or red. You won't know who got picked first or last, it will be random.

4. We'll switch the map and everyone switches to the team they were assigned.

5. Captains take time to organize they're teams a bit and we begin.

That's it, simple as that, nothing too complex.

If someone leaves in the middle of the match then anyone who arrived late and is in spectator to watch can jump in and fill the missing slot (be warned chances you'll be asked to play the class that person was playing). If we have no one then we let the admin jump in... if we still run out of people then we reduce the team sizes.[/color]

Overall rules (subject to change)

1. Admin's say is final

The Admins have control of everything. If there is a problem in a team with disagreements between players, admins can override everything to settle disputes. Like always, pay the overlords admins great respect.

2. First come first serve

If your the 19th guy to make it to the event then I'm sorry but your stuck in spectator till someone leaves (It'll be a fun match to watch, I promise :) )

3. MERCY RULE

Alright this is important. So pay attention.

If one team gets steamrolled (teams feel stacked) 2 times in a row. Then the winning team must trade their top player for someone else on the other team.

Then we resume with the game.

This rule can be invoked more then once.

4. Class limits

2 Scouts
2 Soldiers
2 pyros
2 Demos
2 heavies
1 Engineer
1 Uber medic & 1 Kritz medic (1 medic for teams of 7 or less)
1 sniper
1 spy

If you join mid-match

-Join Spectator right away, we don't want to unbalance the teams by having someone making it a 8 on 9 or something.

-Be patient and see if Nick or I can push you in.

-If we have less then 9 people on each team and we have 2 people who wanna play we'll put you both on different teams.

-You can fill in a slot for anyone who leaves or loses connection.

-The best time to join is inbetween maps. We have a short 10 minute break (I've decided to shorten it) before the next map starts since some people may have to leave or take a quick break. This is the best chance at getting in on the action.

Ill probably show up, but wouldnt it be better to form teams beforehand to limit the screwing around time once in game?

I know but if this is annual then sign ups wouldn't be possible. The screwing around time shouldn't be long btw just long enough to get 2 medics and a half-decent plan.

Looks like it starts too early for me. Not enough time to get home from work and have a proper dinner.

You know you can show up late and head into spectator and wait for someone to leave if you arrive late...
