TV 4 on life support

The problem with Happycow is that nobody can cap the last point unless the other team is really bad.

I think it has something to do with most of the level being tiny alleys and people being able to get on the roofs of the buildings. I can easily say it would be much harder to defend if Engineers couldn't get up there.

Well, there are alot of gameplay issues with happycow. Demospam is brutal, there is really only one viable lane of attack, the hilarious coverage of sentries and the difficulty of destroying them, and that there really isn't any good place for BLU to attack from in general.

Like on GR Phase 3, there is the main route that the bomb goes, but you can drop down on the right, or spam RED back on the left. But on happycow, you charge up the middle or you sit around doing nothing, and there really isn't any way to kill more than 1 or 2 of the sguns without ubers.

And the whole damned map is a chokepoint for BLU, it's really a nightmare.

EDIT: but right, this is a thread about server performance. Uh... uh... it worked great tonight! Didn't have a single lag spike/choppy bit from about 7PM->12:30PM EDT.

Also, random question, how does the mapvote thing pick which maps to put in the non-next slots. Is it just random? Cause sometimes I feel like its the same maps over and over.

It is random. But.. we have it set so the last 2 maps played won't show.

Naa, I understand. It's great to see so many of you concerned over the server. These types of things is what makes the Ville what it is.


I have a small update. New server should be up at some point next week. Still doing tweaks to the current one too.

I get a beautiful 25 ping to TV2 and I miss the customs being on there.

Pings will be better with the new server for tv4. Pings also raise on these servers when the resources get too high. Now it probably wont be 25ms but...

You can always move to Chicago Its great here in the winter!

Weather is much nicer and no skeeters in the summers.

I do miss Lake Shore Drive and all the museums.

God I could use a sandwich from Pop's a pizza from Fox's or even some White Castle.....:'(

No, no... I meant keep TV4 BUT move the actual location of the server to san jose.

keep tv where it is at because it has attack defend maps.

I was against having tv2 turned into custom server.

TV1 and 4 are located in Chicago because Merf and I actually own the stuff it runs on. They are not rented servers that we can move or call up and have it changed. Well, we can pick up the server box and move it physically.. blow out some dust

So ya know.. I rest my legs on the machine often.
