I'm still a little early in to it, but I've really been enjoying it (TY checkm8!).

Anyone else playing/interested?

I'm pretty early in as well (at the point of being chronically broke while balancing base expansion w/ R&D).

Can I play this if I have never played a metal gear game or will I be lost story-wise?

I'm considering getting this game but have a question. How many scenes are there like this? I have an 11 year old daughter and really don't want to feel like I need to be looking over my shoulder all the time. I also have an XB1 in the living room that I won at a Christmas party last year and I feel like this may be a game that works well on the 70" I have in there. But if there a bunch of scenes like this then it's just a non starter.

im a bit disappointed by it though it is an ok game i still don't see how it got the same scores as witcher 3, the production and value of it is nowhere close to it if you ask me... seems like a $25 game with a $60 price tag

22 hours and 12% into the game so far. here are some thoughts.

The good is that it still feels like a metal gear game while including all sorts of new concepts like open world game play and call in support. When you are on the ground in Afghanistan everything looks great and combat and stealth work very well. Finally a metal gear game that gives you the freedom to do well even when you mess up the stealth a bit.

The bad is mostly to do with the whole mother base thing. While collecting the troops is fun and all managing them is a bunch of tedious menus that quickly hold lists of hundreds of soldiers with individual stats to manage. The mother base itself is way to big and traveling around on it is no fun. Also Quite's outfit is terrible just straight up. The character is really cool but the outfit ruins that for me.

Overall I would recommend it so far if you like military stealth games or metal gear in general. If you haven't played any metal gear before you will probably be fine you just wont get some references, but since i missed Peace Walker I don't get half of those either and it hasn't stopped me from having a good time.

Thank you jesus! that at least made it a bit less painful and gave me a good laugh. Having your enemy's ship you from base to base in a cardboard box....lol
