"The trailer confirms reports the next entry in the franchise will take place in The Commonwealth - the fictional universe's version of Massachusetts that’s been referenced in prior games. In Fallout 3 side quest The Replicated Man, players encounter a scientist named Dr. Zimmer who comes from The Commonwealth, a “war-ravaged quagmire of violence and despair” where he notes he and his colleagues created androids that have escaped and are running wild. Zimmer also references The Institute, which it seems is a future version of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)."

In 2012, some MIT students claimed Bethesda were scoping out the campus.

Super excited! Given Bethesda's recent track record, I won't pre-order. But, I can't wait to get it once it's been polished a bit!

So 11 months ago a lady posted on reddit claiming to be a Bethesda employee who was fired and said a bunch of Fallout 4 stuff. Everyone called her a liar and said some nasty stuff.

Turns out about 30% of what she said today was proven and the rest is all plausible.

WARNING: MAJOR POSSIBLE SPOILERS

im sad that its being reported that its gonna be more like 3 then new vegas, since i thought new vegas was miles better and just had more to offer. So i might likely pass on this one if its confirmed to be true

+1 waiting until it's stable. I put 40 hours into oblivion, skyrim, and fallout 3, and each had massive stability issues that caused me not to finish *any* of them. Who wants to play a game where you can't save whenever you want and there's a high chance a game will crash after critical progress? They should do a cloud save every minute or something.

Played 3, have New Vegas but haven't played it. Details on the differences you speak of?

Ok imo 3 and Vegas are... Different games. With 3 the wasteland was dead. It was dark and gritty and I liked that. Vegas on the other hand felt... More alive. More things to do. I liked this as Well. If they can make a grittier new Vegas? I'm sold forever.

3 and New Vegas also had completely different writers. 3 was written by Erik Caponi and Emil Pagliarulo, both mainly known for Fallout 3 and Oblivion. New Vegas was written by John Gonzalez, Eric Fenstermaker, and Chris Avellone. Avellone worked on Fallout 2 and Planescape Torment. The difference in writing between the two games is noticeable. Particularly in that New Vegas was more morally gray.

I played a little bit of Fallout 3 and then lost interest. I may give this or New Vegas a shot when they are more discounted.

I've tried to start New Vegas a few times before but just get bored within 2 hours of playing.

I do not understand a lot of people here. Fallout 3 and New Vegas are both amazing games. I have over 300 hours played in New Vegas, and though Fallout 3 isn't on steam for me so I cannot see hours played, I think it is likely as much or more.

I needs me more Fallout, and have been waiting for Fallout 4 for so long.... I needs it! Hopefully I will be able to run it.....

My biggest problem with New Vegas was that the first couple hours was very linear. Fallout is great because the RPG elements allow for many playthroughs, but having to bear through nearly 4 hours of identical gameplay isn't fun.

I didn't find FO3 very compelling for whatever reason. I also played FO1 for like 5 minutes and never played it again, but that game is a lot different.

I've only played FO New Vegas and loved it.
