If anyone is still thinking about getting Dark Souls 2, which comes out this friday, I got a coupon code for green man gaming for 20% off:

OFU76E-1C6RHK-OX6OMC

It expires some time on Friday. If you use it post here so others know it's gone.

I was gonna buy this, then I discovered my PC doesn't even meet the minimum requirements.

Curse you 150 kb/s... and finals

I'll have to squeeze in some playtime this weekend if possible.

Still on the wall over this one. I didn't find the first one nearly as hard or amazing as people claimed. I just feel it's overhyped and don't want to be let down.

If you didn't find the first one to be difficult then this one won't be any different. The combat is slightly trickier, but you will get use to it and have no problem.
Generally most of my deaths were environmental. It was due to it either being pitch black or the jumping still sucking.

It's a fun game don't get my wrong, but it felt more like Dark Souls 1.5 (which isn't necessarily bad) instead of Dark Souls 2.

Um, didn't you get stuck on the taurus demon for like 3 hours?

Pretty sure I remember that.

Hahahahaha. I could understand being stuck on the first Capra Demon for a few hours though.

I can safely say that going from 30 FPS to 60 FPS is simply amazing and completely changes the way the game plays.
And the load times that are only 3 seconds long instead of 15+... oh man so great.

There's no way I'll play this on console ever again.

Not to mention I was still learning the controls by then. Even then, other games I've been stuck on levels for weeks. It's not about how hard it is, it's about how hard people claim it is.

Yep, I've confirmed it. Shrine of Amana is my least favorite area in the game.

Is it as bad on PC as it was on launch for the consoles? The Shrine is really easy on Xbox after the last content patch aside from the pairs of Archdrakes and ogres chomping on your head.

I'm not sure what you mean? I played it day one on both console and PC and didn't have any problems on either. There have been three or so updates so far that have patched and fixed bugs; however, I know there's a minority of people who are having issues with the PC version but I've had zero problems after doing a full run of the game. I haven't tried keyboard+mouse personally but the consensus says that with a few rebinds it works great.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I meant regarding the Shrine of Amana. Before 1.03, it was regarded as the most annoying area due to the homing magic from the mages with ridiculous aggro range. 1.03 severely limited the homing ability of the magic and now the area is cake. I saw a PC video recently however that seemed to show the super homing abilities of the magic in the shrine and was curious if the PC version of the shrine is still the nightmare that it used to be on console.

Is the multiplayer connectivity good on PC? Awful lag and rampant hacking (fixed with VAC now I believe) were my biggest complaints for DkS 1 on the PC.
