I had someone come over and try it on my computer, they played all of ten minutes and quit. I couldn't enjoy it either :\

Sadly, this doesn't surprise me. The elder scrolls universe just isn't meant for multiplayer.

I couldn't get into it either. It just made me want to play a more polished mmo, like Rift.

I was debating picking it up mid next month (official release) and playing it with my g/f.
Sad to hear it doesn't play well.
Any more specific feedback about why it sucks so hard? I played and kinda enjoyed Skyrim and figured they would expand it to a multiplayer system, which it looked like from some of the demo's I watched.

Any more info would be cool.

Ah, see that most you guys have the same opinion as me. I also see this as a money waster.

I haven't played it myself, but as a long time mmo player (the good AND the bad), in gonna assume the problems come from the same problems as the others.

1: Class Balance/Synergy: Usually this is the biggest issue. If class balance is off, any pvp becomes pointless and just unfun. Synergy can also ruin the game. If you are in a group how many classes just feel like pointless overlap? Are your skills being overridden or unused? Chances are you have a bad game.

2: Backstory/Lore: While I doubt this is the issue with ESO, it can be painfully visible in some games *cough*SW:TOR*cough*.

3: Rushed Product: This is becoming to absolute killer of MMOs. I'll point one more to SW:TOR, a game based on the star wars universe, and it was almost unplayable at end game. In reality there was almost no end game. WoW has also been guilty of this recently. There were YEARS between classic and Burning Crusade and then quite a few years between Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King. Then it all went down hill. Fast. I'm assuming this was the issue here. In the case of SWTOR, EA rushed it to meet deadlines. WoW now answers to Activision. I hope Bethesda can get their act together cause I'd love to see that universe expand.

Tl:Dr MMOs are easily broken, but can be fixed if they try.

I have watched some in game footage and reviews from some of the gaming mags and I have heard a few recurring theme that the game starts very slowly and that a lot of the reviewers either became very attached to it, or have kind hated the playstyle.

They commented that combat was less like meaningless clicking and button pushing and waiting for skill cooldowns that I am familiar with (Aion for 3 years). My favorite class in that game had something like 40 skills, only half of which were really practical.

Seems to have a much slower pace. I am also curious how the world and other players interact. The demos I was watching never seemed to show the guy running into other players presumably on the server.

I might end up waiting until official release and collecting some more info before someone takes 60 bucks and 15/mo. Thats money I could be spending on TF2 Hats.

ive had no problems thus far...i think the problem is the fact it is ES style...so you have the faction of people who hate the style of game that the ES games are...and expect it more to be a WoW clone, or you have the ES faithful who cry loudly "how dare you besmirch the ES name by making an MMO" It feels rather well developed...any un polishing is due to the released betas being very narrow in scope, as opposed to "free demoz lolz"
