Best looking recent PC games

Post by Dirty Dan » Wed Jan 08, 2014 4:32 pm

As ya'll may have seen I just recently upgraded my PC - 3.4ghz i5 haswell, gtx780, ssd...now I want my screen to show me more pretty things.

Such powerful
Very graphics

The best looking games I have are Bioshock Infinite and Battlefield 4 - which are amazing. I haven't kept up on PC games as much as I used to due to lack of decent equipment. Now that I have that - what are the kids playing these days? What looks purdy? Ideally games that are fun, too.

Recent games that I've played through which are fun and look good are Sleeping Dogs and Farcry 3. Farcry 3 in particular looks really nice.

The Stanley Parable was extremely well done.

Tomb Raider was one of my favorite games of 2013 the story was well done and it was a gorgeous world I just loved the character progression.

As for visual Bling ... FFXIV is one of the prettiest games I've ever payed. Need to be able to run it a max settings tho.

Best Game is a Modded Skyrim though HD Packs and content. Could spend days wondering arround in there,

Thanks. Lots of stuff I need to try there.

Re: Skyrim: I just hate the way the character interacts with the environment, for lack of a better word (I dont want to say it's the gameplay because the actual gameplay is good, it's just the engine I guess I dont like). Having a character suddenly be blocked by a hill that's too steep is so last decade. They can do better, it drives me nuts! My dream is Skyrim with Cryengine.

Trine and Trine 2 are two of the best-looking games I've seen in recent times. Both happen to be available in the current Humble Weekly Bundle (although you'll need to pay a minimum of $6 to get Trine 2). They're both side-scrollers but feature fully 3D environments.

But the funny thing is is that if you are patient enough you can usually go side to side and slowly climb up to places you aren't supposed to get to from the cliff side...that is how I get around that little roadblock :P

I have a soft spot for the dystopian look of Dishonored, myself.

I feel like Dishonored's style looks better than most "Realistic" games. It may just have to do with the animation quality too.

This and Tomb Raider were the two best games I played in 2013.

As buggy as the game might be, Chivalry Medieval Warfare and it's DLC Deadliest Warrior are absolutely beautiful on max settings. It's amazing what the Unreal Engine can do sometimes.

Funnily enough, I don't play too many of those high quality games people are talking about these days, so I'm otherwise no help here.

This is hard to be cool and suave while being informative at the same time. Goddamn my coolness.
In my experience, common sense isn't too common.

Tomb Raider was very good looking, and the game itself was surprisingly not terrible.
