Have any of your Civ5 games been analogous to history?

Post by MrBlah » Mon Oct 21, 2013 9:33 pm

Or anything else? Like any stories?

My first game, playing the Earth map. I started in Asia. Never started any wars(keyword here is I never started them, I never declared war on anyone). Everyone that started a war with me, lost.

Take away? Don't start a land war in Asia.

In my current game, I'm about to fight cannons and rifleman with tanks and artillery. I don't think it will last long.

I have all the techs researched. I kind of want to go fight everyone instead of take a science or cultural victory. Especially since I was 2 eras ahead of the largest empires until recently. And I've never used the Death Robots in a battle before.

In 20 turns, I've captures 9 cities. In an effort to speed up the capturing process, I've been giving some cities to other empires(I even liberated France!), or letting them capture the city instead of myself, only keeping the ones that give me Aluminum and Uranium. America will fall to the Russians! Because, ya know, we won the cold war, the space race, and all by about 100 years. Seriously, I had nuclear bomb tech in like 1890.

Well as a Jewish-founded state, I was attacked by Germany. Does that count? (Kinda offensive I suppose)

In other news I converted all of Germany to Judaism afterwards.

Back in Civ II, I had a game where I was flying stealth bombers and firing cruise missiles in the mid 1600's :-D Civ II's tech tree was a bit more broken than the newer versions though :-P

Did you improve the tile? Aluminum, oil, and Uranium have to have improved tiles to be used. I figured that one out this round as well. I also had trouble locating oil and aluminum in my empire due to having other tile improvements on them.

You need to build a mine.

Moving a worker over most any tile will let you know what you need to do to obtain the resource.

Take the victory then use the option to keep playing!

If you take the lazy/easy route and set your workers on auto they'll do it for you.
