Hopefully it rocks as much as the 1st two did. By the 3rd game almost any franchise is awful but Valve seem to make sequels better than the originals so lets hope they continue that trend!

Totally non-news on multiple accounts.
1) Trademark applications can be faked, as proven here
2) If it is real, it's more than likely just protecting the brand. This isn't an announcement of any kind.
