The idea of all these variants:
These models are intended to show backers what they will be able to do with ship upgrades and modifications in the finished world, building base hulls out for more specific roles.
As well as updated commercial

Less than 6k alpha slots left.

Alpha slots were going down about 1k a day. However, with 2.5k alpha slots left the $25million mark was hit. This will expand Alpha world wide also adding 50,000 more alpha slots.

I've had my eye on this for some time. I'm fairly excited for it, though I'm not sure if I will like this or Elite: Dangerous more.

There's becoming quite a bit of competition between the two. I'm sure competition is great.

What I get between the two:

Elite is more of a shoot em up but has a much more detailed sci-fi world.

Starcitizen is more immersion focused but has a much more technical world (economy),

IDK, Star Cit seems to be going no-holds-barred on just about everything, but they are taking things one step at a time (i.e. focusing on getting ships and space up and running, then really fleshing out details). Either way, I'm eagerly awaiting the 29th when the Dog fighting module goes live :D

Same, can't wait. However, I don't have any lower end ships that will be in the initial release so I will be stuck flying the aurora.

What ships do you have? I have Retailiator and MISC starfarer then will be trading in the aurora for the mustang.

ATM just the aurora LN, but would like the carrack and starfarer.

It's pretty, I'll give it that much. However, not a fan of the controls. Gonna be hating a lot until they're able to allowed more control layouts. I'm just don't like aiming and steering with the same point.

So medic convinced me to try the alpha. They have added multi crew ships and hyperspace and all that fun stuff. I figured what the heck so I downloaded it. Got into the game after a few tries and did some wandering while i worked out some basic controls. After some trial and error we managed to get the two of us into a ship. He took off and immediately punched the hyper drive and we went screaming across the universe. dropped out into the middle of a dogfight and i started opening up on every thing in sight. once the smoke cleared we pretty much crashed right there.

Here are my thoughts on the game thus far. In the alpha build it is crashing like its going out of style. The controls are so complicated you need to print out a map to get them all. The space stuff is so massively disorienting that half the time I have no idea what is going on.

That being said my mind is blown, I'm out 80 bucks on a ship, and I have to get going i have a map to print out.

Damn, wish you hit me up crimson. I actually have some ships to sell. Anyways, what ship did you get? I've been an early backer, but only play every now and then. With updates the config constantly has to be reset and I don't like the default controls.

I got an Avenger Stalker package. Haven't played much myself way to crashy for more than a test at this point. I was amazed by how seamless everything is. You can wake up, walk aboard your ship, and jump across the galaxy without a loading screen or change in perspective. Medic just upgraded to a super hornet because he was so impressed with the progress.
