Half of my current Virtual Console collection consists of freebies from there. Plus they sometimes do promos like this. I swear I was not paid to say this.
Can you register a game if you got the digital version?
I think you have to have your system linked to your account at the time of purchase, after which the game will register automatically the next time your system connects to the Internet. I don't think there's a way to register digital titles purchased before you linked your system, but I'm not 100% sure.

I need a test audience for this one.

Over the past couple of weeks, I've been putting together a KO montage of 1v1 For Glory matches, specifically using Mega Man's Up-tilt (the Shoryuken-inspired attack). Wondering if I could get some feedback; editing, music choice, content quality, etc. I think I did pretty well, but I won't go public immediately until i'm sure.

I also need to make sure I have permission from the creator of the second song. While his channel does state that it's cool to use his stuff if you credit and link to him, I want to message him to be sure, but there doesn't appear to be any way to contact him through Youtube/Google.

Needs more memes/flares/sponsors like sprite/hitmarkers/camerashake/etc.

Lul but seriously great job. Very solid kills. Music fits well with the megaman montage. Could use some sound effects to make it more interesting, but not too loud, but this is just my opinion. Overall gr8 8/8 m8

Not everybody likes this kind of stuff, I think it's all obnoxious and distracting.

Though I was considering editing in Ryu/Ken's Shoryuken voice clip for each uppercut. Throw a Tiger Uppercut in there for good measure.

A new update for Smash Wii U has expanded the 8-player stage roster. Stages now available for 8-player mode include:
[*]Mario Circuit (Brawl)
[*]Luigi's Mansion
[*]Pyrosphere
[*]Norfair
[*]Lylat Cruise
[*]Pokemon Stadium 2
[*]BOTH Animal Crossing stages
[*]Wii Fit Studio

In addition, the following Omega stages (Final Destination layout) will also be open for 8-player
[*]Mario Galaxy
[*]Mario Circuit (Brawl)
[*]The Great Cave Offensive
[*]Lylat Cruise
[*]Pokemon Stadium 2
[*]Town and City

It's worth noting that playing on these stages, hazards and details are removed to preserve framerate. It's mostly cosmetic (such as Wii Fit Studio lacking the mirror background) but a few do change a bit significantly: Pyrosphere lacks Ridley, Norfair has no lava, Mario Circuit has no Shyguy karts, Luigi's Mansion cannot be destroyed, and Pokemon Stadium 2 won't change forms.

Smash Wii U should be on Version 1.0.2, so make sure you have the correct version next time you play.

I think most of them came in when I was one of the first players to show off TF2's Ap-Sap. I have an alternate channel with over a thousand subscribers because I botched a search tag.

There's been an update for Smash 3DS (Nintendo updating their games? Unheard of!). The current version is 1.0.5. This version also once again borks your old replays, so back them up first if you want to keep them.

While there are some patch notes, they aren't totally complete. Here's what's been stated:
-Sharing has been added. This means screenshots, replays, and Mii Fighters can now be uploaded to servers for other players to download.
--Screenshots can also be posted to Miiverse now
--Any downloadable content will be removed from the servers after 30 days.

-Amiibo support has been added, though you'll need the New 3DS in order to use it which isn't due for US release until Friday.

-Some issues have been fixed. Nintendo being vague again.
--Player testing has revealed:
--Kirby can no longer float in place with Pit/Dark Pit's bow
--Link can no longer jab-lock players by canceling his first jab
--Palutena's Super Speed momentum has been tweaked.

Screwing around with custom moves, I may very well have found the single strongest attack in the game. Hyper Arts Buster Shulk using Power Vision on a move that would deal maximum damage for Power Vision, amplified by damage boosting custom items and the Critical Hitter item.

As of today, you have four weeks left to get the upcoming Mewtwo DLC for free by registering both the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros. with Club Nintendo. If you get a digital version, make sure you have your system and NNID linked to Club Nintendo before buying so that they'll be automatically added to your Club Nintendo account.

Additionally, if you registered both games before January 13, the soundtrack CDs are set to ship this month, so watch your emails and mailboxes!

On a more general note, if you have any other games you want to register on Club Nintendo for coins, you also have four weeks left to do that, and four weeks + three months (until June 30) to use up all your remaining coins on the nearly 120 games on there. Don't miss out on free stuff!

I just got the soundtrack in the mail yesterday. 72 songs, 36 on each disc. At least two songs per character-franchise, except for Mega Man and Sonic who didn't get any. The Blue disc also has the currently unreleased Mario Paint Medley, which will play on the Miiverse stage. A few of the songs included are from Melee and Brawl, but most of the music was created for Smash 4. The Red disc plays songs that are found in the 3DS version while Blue sticks to Wii U music.

Also it's entirely in Japanese, including the version of Ashley's Song from Warioware. Every song label and artist is in Japanese so if you want to rip them, be ready to rename everything.

The complete song list:

Red
1: Menu
2: How to Play (Melee)
3: Overworld (Super Mario Bros)
4: Overworld/Aquatic (Super Mario 3D Land)
5: Try and Try Again (Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga)
6: Kongo Jungle (Melee)
7: Stickerbrush Symphony (DKC2)
8: Gerudo Valley (Zelda OoT)
9: Overworld (Zelda Spirit Tracks)
10: Brinstar (Melee)
11: Obstacle Course (Yoshi's Island)
12: Green Greens V.2 (Kirby's Dream Land)
13: Corneria (Melee)
14: Star Wolf/Sector Z (Star Fox 64)
15: Battle! Vs. Trainer (Pokemon X/Y)
16: N's Castle (Pokemon Black/White)
17: Mute City V.3 (F-Zero)
18: Id (Purpose) (Fire Emblem Awakening)
19: Wrath of the Reset Bomb (Kid Icarus Uprising)
20: Dark Pit's Theme (Kid Icarus Uprising)
21: Ashley's Song (JP) (Warioware Touched)
22: Tortimer Island (Animal Crossing)
23: Kappn's Song (Animal Crossing)

Nintendo Direct 4/1, this is not a joke.

Mewtwo is confirmed for April 28th. People who redeemed the Club Nintendo promo will be able to play him April 15th. He appears to have his moveset from Melee with a few fixes/tweaks (Side B properly changes projectile ownership for instance). His Final Smash is Mega Mewtwo Y which appears to launch a giant Shadow Ball instead of being a transformation like Charizard and Lucario.
http://www.smashbros.com/us/characters/mewtwo.html

Furthermore, Lucas! is slated to be a DLC in June. Also more Amiibos throughout the year and DLC costumes for Mii Fighters, including Mega Man X and Protoman skins for Gunners.

Ahh crap.

I missed registering on the 31st because I think the deadline was sooner... I thought I'd get mewtwo anyways.

Now I have to pay ;_;

There's a DLC page on the main website now; while Mewtwo appears to have been the experiment, it's proving to be a success before it's even out. The page lists release dates (if given) and prices. There's no version-exclusive content (yet). That said, you have to pay to have the options on both versions. You can pay for just one version (in case you only have one) though it saves money if you buy the DLC for both versions at the same time. A DLC shop will be added to the menu in both games. If you purchase the package for both versions you'll be given a code that must be redeemed in the other console's e-shop.

http://www.smashbros.com/us/dlc/index.html

As of now:

Two characters, Mewtwo and Lucas.
Mii Fighter outfits
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWUQtOrfJHk

-Smash Bros. T-shirt/jeans (all)
-Majora's Mask headgear (all)
-Link's hat/tunic/sword (Swordfighter)
-Dunban's hair/outfit (Swordfighter)
-Monkey suit (Swordfighter)
-Cat suit (Brawler)
-Proto Man's helmet/armor (Gunner) ("It's up to you to provide the whistling though")
-Mega Man X's helmet/armor (Gunner)

Also, Nintendo has opened up a poll. They're asking everyone who they want to see in Smash Bros. as potential future DLC candidates. Submit your answer here: https://cp.nintendo.co.jp/us/

Going off of the Smash Bros. sub, the current most popular choices are Wolf, Snake, and King K. Rool. Other big ones I keep seeing are Ridley, Issac (Golden Sun), Shovel Knight, Knuckles, Wonder Red (Wonderful 101), Banjo-Kazooie, and Bomberman.
