Home-Run Contest returns, as evidenced by today's development screenshot. No word if it's just 3DS exclusive or not however.

This is hard to be cool and suave while being informative at the same time. Goddamn my coolness.
In my experience, common sense isn't too common.

Some extra videos:

Amiibos - Basically AR figures like Skylanders.

Mii Fighters - Including the battle between Reggie and Iwata

All Known Final Smashes - For the most part many are unchanged from Brawl. Pac-Man and Lucario's aren't confirmed but it's pretty easy to figure them. A few others aren't shown. Toon Link's Final Smash is known; it's the same as well.

I like how Mega Man's Final Smash starts off with Galaxy Man's Black Hole Bomb. It makes sense for what the rest of the attack is, and it gives a nice reference to Mega Man 9.

I got to play some of it during the best buy promotional event, played some Rosalina. Her air game seems really good, though I didn't get the hang of Luma that much in the few minutes I got to play.

I immediately fell off the stage because I mixed up my jump buttons with the Wii U Pro Controller, but I managed to still win. I could probably get used to that controller, but I'm gonna get the gamecube adapter.

They're going to be revealing a new character trailer on Monday, at 7 AM Pacific (9 AM Ville/Central, 10 AM Eastern). And from what Sakurai's said on the Miiverse, they're running low on newcomers to showcase.

And on a note related to the screenshot-of-the-day, that move Pac-Man did in his trailer where he showed off a bunch of Namco characters in sprite form is actually a taunt. Specifically, his Up Taunt. And this one actually has a name, "Namco Roulette"

I cannot confirm or deny, but I think Rayman might be the character they're revealing later today.

At the very least, he's a trophy in the game.

For some reason they felt having four Fire Emblem characters was necessary.

Newcomers: Lucina and Robin

On the bright side, Captain Falcon is confirmed to return.

Sweet! Fire Emblem Awaking was awesome so I'm glad they added Lucina and Robin. Although Lucina seems to be a clone of Marth.

This game is making me consider buying a Wii U..... however I probably won't in the end.

Took the liberty of adding a list of stages that are known to exist.

Brawl's Green Hill Zone returns in the 3DS version.

3DS gets a Paper Mario stage.

It's yet another "tour" stage, and it starts out with a Sticker Star location. But there's also Flavio's ship from Thousand Year Door (being harassed by the giant Blooper from the Rogueport Sewers).

Starting to see some pre-orders pop up.

$99.99 for the bundle with game, controller and adapter.

Today's Miiverse post is strongly suggesting N's Castle being a stage for the 3DS version. Reshiram is standing front and center, while Sakurai mentions Zekrom and, for some reason, Milotec also showing up.

Today's Miiverse post reveals that the successor to the Trophy Lottery and Coin Launcher: The Trophy Shop.

Instead of spending coins on getting random trophies, you can now spend coins to get specific trophies. Most appear to cost 300 coins, but they'll sometimes go on sale.

The 3DS version will have more trophies than the Wii U version.

Also, Xerneas and Victini had their effects revealed:
- Victini's Victory Star ability raises its summoner's attack power and prevents them from flinching.
- Xerneas's Geomancy raises all of the fighters' launching power, but the summoner is given a bigger boost than everyone else.
