So an indie company called Big Dev Studios just released a trailor of their FPS mech game they've been working on. The game uses the unreal engine and is 9 months in the making. However, let the trailer speak for itself... The Internets been going wild and I'm surprised no one has posted this here.

Damn you biker. Damn you to hell!
I haven't had a good mech fix since MechWarrior 4....that was like, a decade ago. If this game isn't good or disappears into vapor, I will hold you responsible.

Basically the big deal is that an indie company was able to make that in 9 months while larger companies struggle to do similar.

Of course for those of you who are desperate for a fix there is a multi player only mechwarrior mod of crysis and mechwarrior 4 is free with tons of additional mechs.

I could always play the Battletech tabletop game. The problem was not having anyone around to play it with.

Old school hardcore. I didn't even have minis until 1989.

I'm not so old-school that I want to completely ignore the Clan storyline (considering that Kerensky's return is foreshadowed from the beginning of the series (and even though having the SLDF return as a bunch of silly ubermenschen was, perhaps, excessive)). I actually draw the line at the WoB Jihad, the Dark Age, and ClickyTech. WoB suborning the entire Free Worlds League is actually rather clever, but I'm starting to really hate it when franchises decide to punch the reset button by arbitrarily skipping ahead some years and killing everyone else off in the meantime. (The same thing applies to the Star Wars Expanded Universe, which went a little... crazy.)
There! I've geeked all over this thread.
On the original topic, the mod looks nice, though you can see a lot of Unreal underneath the skin, mostly in how things move.

Good find! I hadn't heard about it, but I'm definitely hoping it turns out well.
Any of you guys ever play Starseige? I definitely enjoyed the Mechwarrior games growing up, the gameplay was a riot, but man, Starseige just had a great story with it.
