Heroes of Newerth Free Trial

So for those of you who haven't heard, HoN has a free trial system going on where you get 10 free games to play and decide whether you want to buy the game or not.

If you don't know what HoN is, it is a remake of DoTA on a new engine. If you don't know what DoTA is, DoTA is a Warcraft 3 mod in which instead of controlling an army of units, you controlled one unit that had special abilities etc. I'm not really that good at explaining so if you're confused I would suggest watching some tutorials videos on HoN on youtube.

P.S. - If you've heard of HoN, you've undoubtedly heard of the pretty bad community. While this can be true while playing with pubs, playing with friends is SO much more enjoyable and fun.

That and the game is basically the exact same as DoTA, without the ranking of course, and I don't feel the need to spend an extra amount of money on a game I already own

To be honest I see HoN as an upgrade from DoTA. What I mean is: less leavers, a report a player feature, original content, a map editor coming out soon, etc.

And compared to the DoTA community, I think the HoN community is definitely an improvement.

A bit old, but I occasionally play HoN with some friends. I also was in the same boat as iOwn- and didn't think it was worth purchasing, but one of my old DotA friends bought it for me one day. I also play a little bit of LoL with some friends, which is my least favorite game of the three by far.

As it is still though, I think DotA is far superior in gameplay to HoN. And that's honestly why I'm excited about DotA 2, because all I really want is DotA with some dedicated servers and matchmaking.
