Re: Pokemon Black & White
They changed some of the abilities so that now they work better in battle.
Stench - Now gives a chance of flinching your target if you hit with a contact move.
Plus & Minus - Now works with another Pokemon with the same ability instead of just the opposite one.
Sturdy - Works like a Focus Sash now, letting the Pokemon live with 1 HP instead of being one-hit KO'd from full health.
Lightningrod & Storm Drain - Now nullifies the attacks they refer to (Electric for Lightningrod and Water for Storm Drain), and also increases your Special Attack.

Re: Pokemon Black & White
I don't think anyone here is playing the game on an emulator. Especially since the game is currently only available in Japanese.Darklightr wrote:If you guys are playing the emulator, can you link it here? I want it bad...

Re: Pokemon Black & White
So I imported a copy of Black a couple weeks ago and it finally came today.
I have to say that this generation is either less grindy than the other games or more grindy than the other games. I say this because the experience you gain by defeating other Pokemon is changed based on the level difference between you and the enemy. So if you're level 5 and you somehow beat a level 10, you're going to get a lot more EXP than if you were level 15 and beat a level 10.
I'm currently in the second gym town and my team is:
Mijumaru (The starter water otter) - Level 14
Yorterrie (The puppy) - Level 15
Baoppu (The fire monkey) - Level 14
Minezumi (The chipmunk) - Level 4 (It's there just so Cut doesn't go on Mijumaru or Baoppu)
Mogurew (The giant-clawed mole) - Level 10 (It's rarer than most other Pokemon in the areas you can find it so I caught it)

Re: Pokemon Black & White
Don't forget to get a snowcone pokemon and use melt or a gear pokemon and use rotate.
Eater of Potatoes, since 2008.

Re: Pokemon Black & White
The funny part is that those Pokemon actually learn those moves.
The ice cream learns Acid Armor (which is named "Liquefy" in Japanese) and the gears learn a move called Gear Change that makes the user spin (It raises speed two stages and attack one stage).
I'm currently preparing to take on the Elite Four with the following team:
Daikenki (The starter otter's final form) Level 49
Baokkie (The fire monkey's final form) Level 49
Murando (The puppy's final form) Level 47
Zuruzukin (That ridiculous-looking lizard) Level 48
Bivanilla (The ice cream's final form) Level 47
Hatooboo (The pigeon's second form) Level 32
It was hard work training the ice cream up to the final form, because everything in Victory Road (except like Koromori) have moves Super-Effective against Ice-type Pokemon.

Chillarmy -> Minccino (chinchilla)
Gigaiath -> Gigalith (giant four-legged rock beast)
Meguroco -> Sandile (sand crocodile)
Shimama -> Blitzle (electric zebra)
Mamepato -> Pidove (pigeon/dove bird)
Gear -> Klink (the gears)
Hihidaruma -> Darmanitan (smiling fire gorilla)
Munna -> Munna (floral-patterned floating tapir)
Abilities:
Encourage -> Sheer Force (Moves with added effects lose their added effects and gain 30% more power)
Overconfidence -> Moxie (If the user directly causes an opponent to faint, its attack raises 1 stage)
Pigeon Heart -> Big Pecks (The user's defense cannot be lowered)
Characters:
Prof. Araragi -> Prof. Juniper

I laughed so hard at "Big Pecks". It's such a terrible pun.
