Halo Reach

Post by Mal.TVR » Thu Sep 16, 2010 9:58 am

So I picked this game up yesterday, played a couple hours of the campaign, and realized how terrible I am at Halo and playing games on the 360. Way to comfortable with keyboard and mouse.

Anywho, overall I'm enjoying it, and I'm really excited to start playing online. I think Bungie did a good job, pretty much sticking to the way the game plays, and most if not all additions this time around are positive.

Short on multiplayer maps, but like it has been commented before, when you have a multiplayer game, usually you have a favorite couple of maps that you play ALL the time, so what's the big deal. *coughWarpathcough*

Wondering if anyone else picked this up, and if so what are your thoughts?

Got it yesterday but only played for 40 minutes or so. I actually felt a bit disappointed with it. The graphics seem good at times and blurry at others. Plus the game seemed to get sluggish with a low frame rate every now and then. Not really bad, I just expect a console game to run better because it's supposed to be designed to run on it. I found myself wishing I had a keyboard and mouse as well.

As someone that was once a fairly die hard Halo fan, I felt underwhelmed with my initial playing of it. I doubt I'll reactivate my xbox live account to try it online as I don't feel like having 11 year olds yelling obscenities at me.

I lost all hope for Halo when ODST came out, but I'm starting to get interested again. . . I just don't know.

I lost all interest after playing the first one.
I'd think about giving it another short but then I'd have to buy a 360 or something.

I never wanted a 360, then my wife bought one for me at christmas. I saw how big the box was and I said "You better not have bought me something big like a 360!" Needless to say with my wife, saying something like that gets me in trouble, because it's seen as me being unappreciative. Sigh, wives.

Although a PS3 would be good now since I just got a 1080p TV and could use a blu-ray player!

I actually liked ODST quite a bit.

I picked Reach up Tuesday and am about 1/4 of the way through. The story is interesting and I quite like it, although I keep getting messed up b/c I want to always slow down time like in every other FPS ever now, and get frustrated when I can't.
Hit me up on XBL -> Yevgenie, just shoot me a msg saying who you are :)

I played the 1st one on the PC (came with my video card). It was okay but didn't wow me enough to make me want to purchase an XBox to play the other ones.

I played halo when I was much younger and didn't understand much, but then bought an xbox and halo 3 when it came out and I loved it. I didn't play ODST, but that one wasn't very good anyways. I was reluctant to get Reach, but after seeing some video footage and remembering the fun I had during the beta, I might rethink getting it during Christmas.

I'd also like to encourage anyone who has an xbox to add the profile I made so that people can find others who play on the console. Add TheVilleOrg !

Console FPS just doesn't do it for me. I own the first two Halo's simply because they were among the "must have" games when I got my original XBox (long after it's release).

I just can't do FPS on a gamepad when mouse-keyboard is so vastly superior.

Unless it's Goldeneye 007. Then it's OK.

You PC gamers always bash the game consoles.

I must be the only one who likes both equally.

There's positives and negatives to both.
PC community is a lot better than the console community, but sometimes I think there are some games that work better with a controller than they do with a keyboard.
I also like both equally, and will play them interchangeably

I do both, depends on the game, I love RTS' on the PC, I love RPG's on the console, I prefer FPS' on the PC, but I like the Halo franchise so that one's all about the 360.
