I dig it so far.

Spent a lot of time in the tutorial as I felt it didn't really explain things that well so I wanted to have a grasp on what's going on before I jumped into the actual game.

It's refreshing to play a different style of game, granted I need to get into it more before I give it a real thumbs up or not.

Anyway, I'm an enforcer on the zombie server, when do you guys usually play?

I'm on usually late at night, though today is my day off but I'm trying to get stuff done and getting my PC to a 64bit OS. So once that is done I'll be on. Also, all of our names are posted on like page 2 or 3 if you want to add us.

That'd be great, Greebo, thanks. Every time I tried adding an additional track or instrument, it would tell me it was "too complex" or something like that. I've got the opening bars Alizée's Moi... Lolita programmed in, but would love to add some drums and guitars to it.

The song builder, yeah, I'm aware that allows longer and more complicated ones, I'm just not much of a DJ. Personally, I find it really obnoxious that there's loud music everywhere I go, being blasted by random people, but that's just part of getting used to the game. I'm sure that if I was good enough to write or transcribe some cool stuff, I'd be doing it too :-)

I'm not letting the crashes stfile my creativity, at least! Behold, my latest creation:

Oops
I fail

I did screenshots for a guide and forgot to post it...and now I'm back at work!

BETTEH's linked video basically shows what I was going to do anyway.
At the top are 6 (?) tracks, click the first track and do some notes for instrument 1
Then click the next track and put some notes for instrument 2

Rinse and repeat.

I still have NO idea what the different patterns are for.

Oh, this might be the cause of your "too complex" issue:

D'oh! Yeah, that's probably the issue. Acoustic Piano is definitely one of the only worthwhile ones, and my entire thing is accoustic piano - multiple hands of it on the first track.

Thanks for the link - hopefully they'll get that fixed. Absolutely no reason to force people in to using synthesized crap.

Does seem a really stupid restriction.

I did make a "Still Alive" theme last night - will get to doing the full song eventually.
(It only plays "This was a triumph" (as notes) and the the first few bars of the guitar )

I think I found out what patterns are about - they seem to come into play for songs. For a single instrument, you'd use the first pattern, then second, then third and so on. Because themes are so short, they only make use of pattern 1.

Now, if only they would give the option to lay out the keyboard horizontally instead of vertically, I could do things about 5 times faster! Haha, it's a pain to look at a keyboard on it's side when you're used to sitting at a piano bench.

There's huge potential for creativity here - I'm looking forward to working on some stuff.

Thats my biggest problem, and the fact it has a scroll bar. Being completely unable to learn music I can barely read and play notes. So in the editor I was like 'wheres middle c'.

Also, so I think my lag is processor based. I run a 2.4ghz dual core and my entire time in action district my cpu is at 98-100% and never drop. Luckily I'm getting a new processor soon.

I've also have a new rage pet-peeve in-game. This isn't roof camping, since that is something that can be out-skilled.

Its arresting 5 star crims when they are in groups. As you may or may not know when crims get 5 stars they can also be bounty for other crims. Twice last night I got to and stunned a 5 star crim (different crims both occasions) and WHILE arresting them their team-mate kills them. One of them I actually got to arrest and stun later. He was actually cool and we chatted a bit, it was just something his friend did. But the other guy decided to talk crap and laugh at me afterwords.

Just ignore the trash-talking in the game. This sort of game, especially the criminal side, attracts wanna-be hardcore folks, leet-kiddies, and all the worst of the console crowd like flies to sugar. Their jejune behavior is to be expected. Simply disregard the talk, hunt them down, and put bullets in their head later on.

In my opinion the trash talking is part of the fun. The in-game VOIP allows you to laugh when arresting a crim, and crims could laugh back. Now of course not raging when people start yelling obscenities at you is another thing but I think villians are able to ignore that.

hey guys, I need some opinion here. Do you guys want to abandon SC and join a larger dedication clan in order to reap the daily awards or would you rather keep a close knit group where you can pretty much know each other. So far I think all but 3 member are villians... Let me know your opinions please.
