Howdy, all. We've been talking about the possibility of bringing up a new Valheim server some time soon. There have been some patches since we played last, including enable Steam Cloud saves for characters and worlds, some new banners, and fixing bugs like the smelting using too much coal and the server saving corrupt chunks.

Thing is, there *may* be a major content update in the near future, to introduce the "Mistlands" biome (which is currently available as a test build), but there is no date for this currently known, and it has already been delayed for a rather long time. It could be in a week, it could be next year some time.

If we start the server before the Mistlands patch, it may be like what happened with the Frost Cave patch back in March, where the new content generates in places we haven't explored yet. This isn't known though, so there's no guarantee it wouldn't require a server restart.

All that said, we have a simple question: would you like us to bring up a new Valheim server?

We can do so in short order, so we can all get playing, or we can wait until whenever Mistlands comes out. Alternately, if people are bored of this, we don't have to set up a new server at all. Please cast a vote and let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Winter is coming, I could do some graydwarf punching, its been a while.

It would be great to get a date on Mistlands, but it goes how it goes. Don't want to wait on hopes, but I don't want to over discover and hamstring ourselves later down the road.

From the sound of it, Mistlands as a biome is generating in, but is basically a spooky unpopulated land at present. It's a fair ways out though - like halfway to the edge of the world or more, so based on our previous servers I'd say it should be pretty easy to avoid loading them in advance - we rarely explore out that far.

I agree that we can avoid them pretty well without much difficulty. I can stay lost in the black forest forever any how. I miss chopping wood.

I wasn't around for the first time the Valheim server was live but I would love to jump into a new server! Valheim plus TheVille = win win

Depending on what they say in there, we'll look to get a server up either very shortly (if it's gonna be a while or date isn't announced), or potentially in a week or two if they give us a close date. Either way, expect some new Valheim coming to the Ville soon!

The update just dropped! "Available now for public testing." While yes, it is a test, I think it's 100% worth it.

It include not just new terrain, but also spell casting, numerous new enemies (both air and land) plus a new boss, a heap of new materials, new crafting stations and upgrades, new food, new potions, some wild new biome generation, five dozen new items and objects, and more.
