Re: Prebuilding Sentries: When should you?

It gives out more health and metal, but I believe restocks ammunition and deploys metal at the same intervals. No, that's not correct. I've noticed specifically with bow sniper that higher level dispensers give ammo at the same interval, but each interval gives more ammo. It takes a *long* time (se...

Re: Another Reason to love Valve, DRM related.

I posted about this on another forum, but I'd like to reiterate: For a great game from developers who really get it, check out www.2dboy.com for World of Goo. It is an excellent indie game with a good price, and they trust their users . There is absolutely zero DRM! They simply ask those that purcha...

Re: Player of the Month - November '08

*sniff* Thanks all! It's quite an honor to be PotM! It's nearly true what one voter said, that I play only Warpath on VIII. I do spread it around a bit, but you can usually find Deathbringer and myself on Warpath. I hope we've done a good job of making VIII a great place to play (of course with the ...

Re: Warpath game flow

From my observation, you play a lot of scout. Scouts rule the early game on warpath when things are wide open. But as soon as the middle point gets decided and the teams get entrenched, it becomes much harder to scout. This is also why when teams are small (i.e. 5 players) and a team goes primarily ...

Re: Internet Connections

By all means, check out an online resource for broadband ISPs in your area. I've used DSLReports and highly suggest them. Despite their name it is not limited to DSL services. What you are looking for is low latency. Higher speeds are irrelevant unless you plan on downloading content and playing at ...

Favorite Goo

Despite the constant distraction that is TF2, I'm well into chapter 3, and so far my favorite Goo has got to be the drool ball. You'd think you could only do so much with Goo. But the different kinds of goo and variety of puzzles using combinations thereof are very creative! Hope lots enjoy th...

I also want to suggest the use of Acronis. I use it for regular backups. You can get it from True Image site . They also offer a 15-day free trial . I just used it for something akin to what you're doing. In this case I was working with a laptop that does not accommodate dual hard drives So I did a ...

Re: World of Goo

Well, I went ahead and made the purchase; it's only $20. They are making Mac and Linux native (yes, pick your jaw up off the floor) versions available soon. However, for the impatient I ran it flawlessly using a current version of Wine on Gentoo Linux. And, yes, if you buy it directly from them you ...

World of Goo

http://2dboy.com/images/WoG_header.jpg Has anyone seen the recent Steam release 2DBoy: World of Goo ? If you like puzzle games it's pretty amusing. Has anyone else tried and/or bought this game yet? The ratings that this thing is getting are amazing. IGN gave it 9.5, while their readers gave it a 9...
