Point proven, just look at that grammar!

Yeah, you're right...!

I'M probably the stupidest people on this planet just because i'm doing grammar mistake!!!

When you'll have enough time to put your head out of your butt for just a few seconds, look what is written under my avatar and you'll see that I'm a FRENCH canadian and this mean that my first language is FRENCH and consequently, it is quite possible that my english is not 100% perfect. So, when you'll be able to speak/read/talk french as good as I'm able to speak english, I will let you do some remark on my grammar, until then... STFU...!

Just to stay on the subject: God I hate those STUPID grammar freaks!!!

Well before it gets locked into oblivion, I will say a few of the following words that are actually ON the topic of the thread.

I don't like it when people rat and bash the internet as some other sort of drug on the market. Yes, too much of anything is a BAD thing. However I believe it should be mentioned how many lives the internet has made better as well. I'm sure they will find many more people who have been tremendously benefitted by the internet, than harmed in any way.

I will list myself for an example. Because of my internet "addiction," I have never EVER done any sort of drugs, I do not smoke, and I don't drink heavily. I am not a habitually violent person, and I have no criminal record. This is primarily because when things get rough for me ,I play on the internet, and I can escape from the things that make life rough for me, just for a little bit. Instead of getting angry or depressed, and then going out and doing something stupid that will harm me for the rest of my life, I play a video game. Then when I am done, I feel better and I can get a better handle on my situation. If it werent for the internet, I would probably end up like so many of my fellows, who are habitual substance abusers or soft/hardcore criminals.

It is simply not fair to produce the evidence that the internet is purely a bad thing without any evidence supporting the fact that it is also capable of great good. I really dislike it when the media does these things, it makes issues too black and white.

The youths are patients at China’s first officially licensed clinic for Internet addiction, a downside of the online frenzy that has accompanied the nation’s breathtaking economic boom.

It says here that it is just a downside of the internet. It never said there was nothing good about the internet, nor did it say that the internet was bad. It could have listed the good things about the internet, but the article was about internet addiction.

I'm not complaining about the article's content. Infact I completely agree with the articles content, and I find no fault in having articles similar to it. Too much of something IS a bad thing.

What annoys me is that this is the type of article we only EVER see. We only hear about the bad things that happen over the internet, the media simply will not report the good things, and they paint a picture of something that is very detrimental, when the truth is that it isn't. That is my issue.

Be nice to each other, be nice in your comments and be nice in game, thats all I ask.....

Well that and that you all line up in nice little rows and hold still so that I can shovel you all and get the daily shovel award. Is that too much to ask?

BTW, for what its worth I have never went for 4 days without sleep just to play games, in fact quite the opposite has happened, I have gone 4 days without games just to get some sleep

Yeah, the media sucks if you want happy news. They find it easier to increase their ratings or whatever by exploiting the bad things in the world...

It's quite simple why. Fear controls.

Oh, and go US for having even more people online than China! They think they've got it bad? We still hardly recognize such a problem after having realized it was a problem long ago. A good step for them, I say.

It's not a terribly "bad" article either. It's the way AP news is anymore. Starts with the attention getting "shocker," backs up such with facts (interviews and whatnot), makes a note of signs of improvement, and leaves the reader with a bit of hope with some lines from a patient's interview.

And now I'm off to play the new WoW patch.
