It says to go to start-run then type gpedit.msc, but that didn't run anything, just got an error code saying windows could not find gpedit.msc. Am I missing something?

I get that error too. If you read the comments, it sounds like most apps don't even use that anyway so your connection isn't limited most of the time.

Ya, I read a little further down. I just disabled the QoS packet under network properties.

I just went to the LAN connection and disabled the QoS Packet Scheduler.

Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Local Area Connection -> (General tab) Properties -> (General tab) uncheck QoS Packet Scheduler

Isn't this what Cablenut does? Or is this different. Or should I eat more porkchops?

unlocking this "20%" bw does not affect anything to do with your internet. because no matter how fast you will not ever reach your "advertised" bandwidth due to overhead. unlocking this 20% you may only notice a slight increase of speed when transfering files through lan (ie from computer to computer plugged into the same router using a network)

yes you can go ahead and do it, it will cause no harm, its just a little pointless. trust me you wont notice a 20% blazing speed increase

heh, sorry

just clearing things up, didn't want you guys to get your hopes up. but it really does nothing noticable except through lan. because it all depends on the server you are downloading from. you can have a 100mbit line to your house, but still pull the same speeds as a regular 10mbit line from a game server.

my internet just got upgraded from 7mbit to 10mbit, and i have not noticed a change in ping to any server i play on
