I've noticed that no one has posted a tips sheet for BF1942 yet, so I'm gonna try my hand at it.

First I wanna start out with the classes and how best to use them.

Classes

Scout- This class has a sniper rifle as his main weapon. He can pick off soldiers from a distance. He's pretty hard to play if there's lag on the server, even harder than it is to play a laggy TFC sniper. He can also request artillery fire. This works well if you've got teammates that cooperate with you. Avoid close in engagement where your rifle is useless and you have to rely on the pistol.

Assault- This class has a support weapon (the StG 44 or BAR). The bullets have a high stopping power, so you can kill an enemy in only a few shots or with a short burst. The downside is that the weapon becomes extremely inaccurate very quickly if you're firing or running. when you shoot with this weapon you should be crouching, or preferably prone, unless you're only a few feet away. You should try to engage enemis at long to middle range, and then at very short range where the accuracy becomes less of a problem (spray and pray). Between middle and very short range you have problems, because the gun is too inaccurate to hit consistently in a range where others are able to.

AT Soldier- This class has a rocket launcher for his main weapon. the rockets will take a few hits to destroy a tank, so when engaging one try to use cover or buildiings to your advantage. Artillery and APCs can be destroyed in two hits, and Jeeps take one. This weapon isn't very good for fighting infantry. If score a direct hit or very close the first time you shoot you may be clear, but if your first shot misses or you're fighting more than one enemy you may have to resort to your pistol. This is bad. You may have a second or even third shot if you're at a distance. Try to engage evreything at a distance with this weapon. You have no effective short range weapons that can fire more than one shot at a time .

Medic- This class is armed with a submachginegun. The gun's bullets have a low stopping power, but the advantages are that it puts out a lot of them quickly, and the best of all- You can fire while on the move. This is something that the other classes cannot do and expect to hit much. You can also heal yourself and friends (duh). Try to engage enemies at short range with this gun. You can try to attack at a longer ranges, but chances are that the more accurate guns will take you out before you score enough hits for a kill. If you try a longer range, crouching or going prone is a must or you won't hit anything.

Engineer- This guy has the sniper's weapon, without the scope. It sucks. You can try to pick off enemies at long range but it's too inaccurate to consistently score headshots and in close it's bolt-action make it too slow to defend yourself. The strength of this class is in his explosives. A good defense relies on mines and strategically placed exppacks, both of which only the engineer can provide. The other thing this guy can do is repai vehicles. if you like to be a pilot, most maps have open areas where you can land, repair your plane, and take off again. You can also man a tank or APC and jump out to repair your vehicle after every minor (or major) engagement or bump in the road.

General Tips and Tricks

-If you're in a tank and an infantry guy is below your gun's traversal range, back up quickly and your tank will rock forward, pointing you gun an extra few degrees down for a second or two.

-Never spawn and stand there. Have your finger on the forward buttion when your respawn time gets close to zero, because spawn camping is rampant in most servers.

-If you have a friend and you're defending on a island map, be an engineer and have your friend get into a landing craft. Put a few expacks under the bow (or whatever part is closest to shore) and you can blow the boat out into the water (Note: Only try this if ff is off )

- Do HALO jumps when you eject out of a plane. In BF1942 you can fall from a mile in the air and open you chute a few feet above the ground and run away. Parachutes are like beacons for enemy AA gunners and for forces on the groung fighting. A tiny dot falling throught the air won't be noticed as much (Note: If you have a really slow connection, you might want to open a little higher or you'll lag and splat)

And that's all I have to say about that
