ya, but teamwork is seldom used in pubs IMO. Especially with stats in play, those who care about their stats dont wanna get killed to gain a few points with a capture.
Maybe we should make captures worth like 100 points. I bet that would get ppl in the action more, cept then they might get all pissy cause someone STOLE their cap. heh I can hear it all now.

I submit my experience this morning on 2fort as an example. When I first logged on, there was a medic on my team. I went pyro for a bit, but they were heavy on the engi's on other team, so I swapped to demoman. Medic refused to stay near me or heal. Now mind you, this guy was a KILLER player. He was racking up kills left and right. So, we get to basement, and there is a gun in the intel room. I start shooting stickies at it, but was getting hit every time. I called for a medic over and over. He stood there and looked at me. I finally had enough stickies to take out ANYTHING around that gun, and blew them. I killed the SG JUST as the engi came around the corner, and blasted me with his shotgun, which because of my low hit points, was a one hit kill. Then he killed the medic. Whee. If that medic had been playing "Diarmad Style" (read: with TEAMWORK), then I would have been full of hit points, and would have been able to take out the engi, or at least cap intel. *sigh* So, my point is - WORK AS A TEAM DARN IT!
That medic was stupid. It's not just a question of teamwork, but of having a brain and use it.

I am personally for this. I think it would encourage people actually going after objectives. Stat farmers might whine, but oh well.

I had a similar experience with a medic on Dustbowl. I was in the tunnel with about 5hp with two other players with full health and a medic. I kept calling for the medic, but he just continued healing the people with full health. I hit E about 20 times running in front of the medic and jumping around until a stray grenade killed me. He just ignored me completely. Don't worry, the other three survived, the two staying above full health.

Re: 2fort
Another thing that bothers me is when I see a medic building uber in the spawn during the fight. Don't they realize that the enemy will do all the work at the front lines? Healing teammates that get hurt by the enemy instead of themselves has the added benefit of keeping the team alive longer. They never end up winning the game, and they just end up wasting time...

Ugh, that bugs me so bad. It's like a pet peeve of mine. As a medic, I WILL NOT pull off of my healee if they are taking damage, but on the other hand, I won't NOT heal some one if they need it. I have had that happen a dozen times too. The WORST though, is when the medic looks at you, while you are on fire, SCREAMING "MEDIC!" over and over and over. And then you die. That pisses me right off.

I have been guilty of this - but ONLY within the first 20 seconds of a match. I figure it's better to build that uber than to run out and die at that point, but not worth it after the first push. Unless it's dustbowl, and you need to build ubers to overcome a heavy defense. But that's kind of a different story.

I was talking way past the beginning of the round. Dustbowl was the map I had in mind. I think healing teammates throughout the match is just as important, if not more important, than an uber rush. The uber is usually only good if you have teammates still alive to finish what the uber started.

Good point indeed - however, when you have 4 SG's staring you down, and a plethora of demos lobbing bombs into that bunker, with only 2 minutes left to cap, building two ubers seems to be the ONLY way I have been able to actually get to the point. (What is that? Leg two of Dustbowl? I always mix them up unless I am playing. Pretty sure it's leg two though.) However, if your team has gone that long without coordinating well enough to get out of the bunker, chances are, you're doomed any how.
That is basically the ONLY situations in the game that I will stay far from the front, and just build an uber. However, I don't stand in the respawn to do it, unless it's not safe otherwise. Which I have seen happen a few times on that part of dustbowl.

As medic Im ALWAYS at the front. As a matter of fact if Im healing someone and they wanna be scared to get out there Ill heal some one else who's up in front lol
Haha, try to be where I am most needed, but I also try to stay alive long enough to uber at least once each life. Doesn't always happen like that though. lol

Maybe we should make captures worth like 100 points. I bet that would get ppl in the action more, cept then they might get all pissy cause someone STOLE their cap. heh I can hear it all now.
Yay, that would have been 900 points on that 9:0 game yesterday
I think the way to fix this is to grant 10 points per capture and 5 points if you die carrying the intel. Or grant 2 points for everyone who touched the intel on a particular run when it is captured.
