sv_allow_wait_command
We are currently discussing the issue in the Admins forum.
We had this discussion in late 2007 when TF2 came out. We set the servers to sv_pure 2, meaning no sprays, and many folks were disappointed.
Our aim, at TheVille, is to create a fun, playing, environment for all players with a level playing field.
It is very well known that the players that gravitate here are mature, responsible gamers who are very skilled and want to play other skilled players.
This cvar has been disabled, and we as an Admin group will weigh the pros and cons and decide whether it fits our community.
Remember, only .scripts with the 'wait' command will be affected. All other .scripts will not be.
Try to think of it this way.
People who really still want the auto pistol will just setup their fancy mouse to do it via a macro. By leaving the valve commands working, you are at least allowing the ability for everyone to do it for free via the built in .scripting that TF2 offers. Removing them un-levels the playing field by allowing auto pistol and other type .scripts to work only for those that can afford fancy mice with the macro ability.

It's a very debatable subject, with lots of things involved. I understand your sense of urgency, but we have not reached decision. We appreciate your being patient
The thing that sucks is, you can't please everyone. Hopefully people can be flexible about the whole thing. Someone is bound to walk away shaking their head, which we want to avoid!

Re: sv_allow_wait_command
I'm really more of a lurker than a contributor per se but this is one subject that I feel strongly about.
Nothing bugs me more than hackers, but I don't think the "wait" command in and of itself can do much in the way of "hacking". For instance, I use some .scripts for my scout where "right click" toggles between the Force Of Nature and the pistol and my Mouse3 always goes to my melee. I've gotten used to this quicker way of going through my weapons but now it doesn't work and I'm using the scroll wheel which is very inconvenient for such a twitch-action fast class like the scout. It downright sucks.
When I think of "hackers" I usually think of those a-holes that use aim-bots/fire-bots/wall hacks and the "wait" command really doesn't let you do this. And like Novacaine said earlier, I could write macros in AutoIt if nothing else to give me the functionality that my .scripts do now but it'd be a pain in the butt and very un-valve like to rely on external .scripts etc...
So for the love of god, give us back the wait command, please? Pretty please?

Re: sv_allow_wait_command
You're all looking way too deep into this.
All other servers basically pull from this same definition: Scripting
And so shall TheVille.

I have a butt and you do too. Let's be friends.
