uh oh, I think I broke me minecraft...tried to put the REI mini map mod on and now it black screens after the mojang symbol :(

I had trouble at first as well. Make sure you've got the new map version and try it again, don't forget to delete the META-INF folder.

The new hoppers allow for some new collection systems. I've played around with the dropper railcart and created a nice collection system for my farm. I wonder if we can create a system at spawn which moves donations from next to the nether portal to next to the storage building using some kind of underground rail system.

EDIT: I've made some tests and created a way to transport large amounts of items from one chest location to another chest via-hoppers.

As long as you have a hopper under a chest it'll drain all the contents, you can then place as mainly droppers as you want to go to a deeper underground. After my tests I found droppers only slowly transfer items from hoppers to a hopper/chest in a minecart and vice-versa however I found I could speed up this process by creating a loop of hoppers at the deposit side and a simple line of hoppers linked to feed into a chest at the end.

The great thing about this set-up is it can be done entirely underground except for the collection area at the end which must be at the same level or higher then then where the big collection chest is. Also additional deposit ports could be created in various areas around spawn allowing all items to be moved to a single central chest where we can move stuff to storage without having to move around spawn.

Now I'll admit this is all a little elaborate for essentially saving like 3 mins of travel time but what do you guys think?

hmm can't get youtube to link. It's an automated storage sorter. It would be amazing if we got it up and running at spawn.

Delete your minecraft.jar and let it re-download. Will the game run normally before you attempt to add the mini map mod?

Update your video driver and java too sir, I had issues and my video driver crashed, a update seemed to fix it.

I've already done some neat things with this update.

For example: I've added a collection system to my farm AND created a filter system which automatically sorts the crops into: Seeds, Wheat, Potatos and other (I rarely plant carrots anymore). It's pretty awesome.

I've also created an automatic chicken farm which automatically throws the chicken's eggs and it's produce little to no lag with the system I've made.

You can swing by my area is you want to see them.


There's a whole lot we could do at spawn with this update with the only limitation being the lag being produced.
