So many already mentioned. Here's some I didn't see:
16 Candles
First Blood
Plains, Trains and Automobiles
Who's Harry Crumb?
Summer Rental
Three Amigos
Stripes
Meatballs
Karate Kid
Teachers
48 hours
Spies Like Us
Fletch
Heathers
...

I realize you asked for our favourite 80s movies but I don't think I could make a proper list. 80s movies to me are Screwball Comedies, The Brat Pack, John Candy, Arnie, Stallone, Kerri Green <3, ...

By the way, would you say I have a plethora of gifts? (Three Amigos)

Predator...the first one was the best man. Didn't like any of the sequels too much other than AvP. I heard the second AvP ain't all that great though. :/ seen it yet?

Dune is a great movie; however, the mini-series made for the sci-fi channel is better. :D

I agree wholeheartedly, my only gripe about the mini-series is everything looked too clean. I mean, it's a planet of sand and dust and everybody has clean faces! Otherwise better than that surreal David Lynch production and more faithful to the books too!
