General Gameplay:
Always the three opposing teams.
"Booty" and "Booty Tag" have a clock for each team which counts down the time which one controls the treasure chest(s).
"Booty" is taking treasure chests from one team's cap point (near their respective spawn), and returning same to yours. Once you pick up a chest you can neither attack nor block. Teamwork is what gets it done here.
"Booty Tag" is similar to murder ball. One guy carries the chest...everyone on the opposing team tries to smear 'em. The team holding the chest the longest wins.
TeamDeathmatch is self-explanatory. There's another where teams battle each other to control a central cap point.
Here's a few tips:
The classes which have a weapon and shield (heavy knight and viking huscarl), can shield bash while blocking. Hit fire while blocking. Very effective against parrots.
The special "crit" attacks are devastating. You build power by registering hits on enemies. The lateral bar with the wolf/dragon/whatever it is on the end, will glow red (the eyes light up too) when you have a special attack ready. Special attacks only work with one specific weapon for that class.
Swords, axes etc. typically build an attack charge by holding down the fire button. The viking beserker (while dual-weilding an axe and sword) is the only exception. You can hold fire to make the beserker continuously swing his weapons.
Just like any FPS, activating quick switch to swap the weapons with your number keys is a benefit.
Black John Carter can tell you about the pirates. That's all he plays. Yar Parrot!
I have resurrected and resumed the use of my former nick "SpicyMcHaggis" as it justs fits this game for some reason.
Please play this mod. It's a very fun distraction from TF2 and DoD:S once in awhile.
EDIT: Oh, one more thing. Due to rabid and rampant llama population, I recommend disabling voice. Having to read the chat is bad enough without the profane/screaming/singing/griefing mic use.
