Re: Combined base
We should probably put them inside. Random dinos can easily destroy chests (and everything inside). I lost a big one at my house.
We'll mostly need stone. If we can find a low level Doedicurus it would probably be worth a tame attempt even though we don't have the right kibble yet.
Also, it looks like your Dodo starved to death, so my kids had us tame a replacement for you, she is in your room. I also built a feeding trough and am trying to keep it stocked.

Re: Combined base
Thanks for the update and the dodo. But I moved him to my other house. Brought him over and bred Dusty and Dusti. Now they have a dust bunny.

Re: Combined base
Haha, nice. It looked like your sleeping body was in the same place so we thought you hadn't been back on the server.

Re: Combined base
So the Tribe base got a major upgrade yesterday (these boosted event rates are awesome). I expanded it vertically for the most part.
We now have seven apartments on the third floor (five unclaimed for those who haven't swung by yet) and I left room to add an eighth if needed.
The second floor is now a wide open storage area. I'm envisioning something like we do at town in Minecraft with just rows of large storage chests. I'm going to work out the details and layout this afternoon.
The downside is our wrap-around balcony can't be supported any longer, so watch your step if you venture out on the smaller balconies that are left.
So far we're approaching this from the Minecraft angle, where we have a mid-size common base and individuals go off and build personal houses other places. If there are any thoughts that we would instead prefer to build one gigantic team base where everyone would primarily live communally we need to make that decision soon. (And that only makes sense if we're going to get a swell in core Ville players on the server.) The land required for multiple large tames (brontos, rex'es, etc.) greatly exceeds the space we are in now.
The folks in the Eternal Flame tribe have an awesomely massive base going up on the southeast corner of the map that is worth a visit.

Re: Combined base
I think the base we have now can be used as a respawn safe house. And a training area. And if someone wants to set up residence thats cool as well.

Re: Combined base
Nooooo, not Pedro! The kids and I have been feeding her every time we pass by your house. Let me know if you're planning on moving in (I can help ferry over your stuff) or just visiting.
I actually started scoping potential areas for a larger base tonight. I was already planning to personally move from my beach house and had a larger spot picked out, but now I'm considering grabbing something even bigger that can be shared. Just trying to decide how ambitious I want to be, the current boosted rates are tempting me... If y'all start taming a bunch of Dinos our current little area could get crowded fast.
If anybody wants help to get airborne let me know and I can help tame a pteranodon or even better an Argy. Flying dinos really open up the map to you.

Re: Combined base
Now is the time to do it with the boosted event rates. This is a great site to help calculate what will be required to tame anything: https://www.dododex.com
Be on the lookout for a decent level (100+) Pteranodon around the base in case you have the opportunity to just grab one. They are easy to tame, just bola, tranc arrow and then meat.
This weekend I should be around long enough for us to go around searching if we need to.
