Re: TF2 Screenies?
I've confirmed that not all Unusual effects are visible using the world models - my Orbiting Fire Exquisite Rack does not render its floating fire sprite while in the world-model mode, even when taunting. Switching to normal first-person brought it back when taunting.
So I guess it's just the inconvenient effects that are rendered when using this mode?
Also, shoulder-mounted Miscs look rather strange. The Bird-Man of Aberdeen is a floating head on my left in which I can see all the back-faces of the model, which looks hideous.

Re: TF2 Screenies?
My bubbling heavy hat doesn't show nearly as bad as my smoky soldier hat. When the minigun is out, the bubbles are only visible if i'm looking straight up. The bubbles are a lot more apparent with the sandvich or fists out though. It may have more to do with character model/weapon positioning than anything, though the brighter effects likely would be vision obscuring. I bet Sunbeams, Plasma, Steaming, and Burning are really difficult to see through.
I kind of want to look into this, but I can't seem to get unusual effects to work on itemtest.

This is hard to be cool and suave while being informative at the same time. Goddamn my coolness.
In my experience, common sense isn't too common.

Re: TF2 Screenies?
Yeah, Valve broke Itemtest's particle-testing portion a while ago and apparently hasn't realized it. That utility is so hopelessly broken that it's almost easier to test items with the old method of compiling them as reskins of existing items.
To avoid derailing the thread entirely, here are a few lovely screenies...
We all thought this Medic was alive at first, but further investigation led us to conclude otherwise.
Checkm8 strikes a flinching pose while sniping.
Moth-Scout is go!
And finally, a lovely ice sculpture.

"...and all that beheld his onset fled in amaze, thinking that Oromë himself was come: for a great madness of rage was upon him, so that his eyes shone like the eyes of the Valar. Thus he came alone to Angband's gates, and challenged Morgoth to come forth to single combat. And Morgoth came."

Fun times to be had on Randomizer servers:
Tomislav bird-scout hybrid
Handsome Jack; hunter of big game, proprietor of Fishcakes.
Can't always come up with witty captions.
This one reminded me of the Organon from the Deponia games.
What is wrong with your face?
I made a Power Glove joke on the actual image caption, but you're free to draw your own conclusions.
Maybe I should've stopped eating all those sandviches.
At the time I took this, the server was discussing how many cosmetics really do fit on other classes. This is a pretty good example of such.
I just got bagged by the world's fattest man!
Spying like a badass?
Love how the Scout handles the Vita-Saw.
Oh, and this one wasn't randomizer, this was just Baron being Baron.

Re: TF2 Screenies?
2800 hours and I can't say I've ever seen a Medic score an assist on his own death; I didn't think that was possible until I had a Medic healing me while I backstabbed him. I always thought there wouldn't be an assist in that case.

Fantastic kill cam from a random Valve server
Humorous kill cam from a random Valve server
Also I love how the Pirate language mod pokes fun at a ton of stuff in various item descriptions, even giving descriptions to items that didn't originally have them (I mentioned Dr's Dapper Topper, aptly translated to "A Distinctive Lack o' Cat," in the renames thread). Especially love the Pirate description for the Grizzled Veteran.
