A re-evaluation is good enough for me. Thank you for listening, Ville Head Cheeses.
And thanks to trilobite, for starting this thread.

Lost on defense today with a good hard fighting team because our 1 afk was an engi....during the first point when that engi wasn't afk, we almost stopped BLU, but then got stomped on the 2nd and 3rd stages.

Re: Assessing results of the two-engie limit on TV-VI-Dustbo
I vote a 3 Engineer limit on Dustbowl. 2 Engineers are too easily overcome, especially if they are not BOTH good players. 3 makes it more of a challenge, but not impossible, for Blu to win. Plus, any good Demoman can (and will) take out 3 Engineer nests relatively easily.
Prior to playing regularly on TheVille servers I played many years of Dustbowl on a server with a 3 Engineer limit and it worked really well.

Thank you all for your patience on this issue.
After a long and carefully considered debate the Admin Team has decided to raise the Engineer limit back to 3 on TV6 Dustbowl. This is a return to the limit that was in place for many years prior to the change several months ago.
This was not an easy decision and all feedback was considered. Thank you again to everyone who took the time to share their opinions on this matter.

I just found out about the lifting of the limit tonight. I'm quite pleased.

I wondered when you would stumble into this. Also GG, the players. You guys drove the discussion and let us know about something that needed to be changed.Crusty Juggler wrote:I just found out about the lifting of the limit tonight. I'm quite pleased.

Sigh....
That's nice to hear the restriction was lifted.
Speaking of restrictions...
I am still on restriction and not permitted to play this game. Excuse me a moment while I delicately dab the corners of my mouth with a 100% cotton napkin.
No TF2 for little trilobite, but I'm allowed to play Skyrim for 350 hours in two weeks or some preposterous, time-sucking boondoggle. Check my Steam stats.
No problem. Waste my time roaming back-and-forth on the Skyrim countryside battling dragons and breathing fire right back at 'em, but no pyro for little trilo. No, no NO! The best I can do now is throw fireballs and flamebreath everyone -- bandits, Forsworn, Thalmor. Ooooh LOOKOUT! And where the heck is my hefty flamethrower? No, it's all magicka now. Sure it's fiery and people die miserable deaths. Ha ha ha. But it's just not as satisfying as chasing down a skinny sniper in Dustbowl while peppering him with my flare gun. And listen to this. There are no Australians in Skyrim. What the HAY?!! Aghhhh, maybe I just don't get the game. But I can sit here and play Skyrim just as many hours each week as I played TF2 without restriction. I think the problem was me talking too much, you know, using my microphone during TF2 sessions. Too loud and annoying for the home viewing audience... Can you believe that? My own spawn complaining that their dear ol' dad is loud and annoying. And after I SWORE to send my youngest to junior college after high school. Criminy! Stuff like this happens and I need a drink. All I want to do is play with cartoon characters on a cartoon map. But NO. I have to behave myself and restrict my killing to men and women and cute little mudcrabs rendered in exquisitely realistic detail. And the music ain't half bad either, come to think of it...
BaaaH!!! Enjoy yer bloody TF2. I'll sit on the sidelines a bit longer and bide my time. One day I'll sell that little stinker of mine for medical experiments (junior college, my arse) and when I do I'll buy me a Lamborghini and reinstall TF2. Then the HELL with your three sentry guns...

This is why I play after my little one had gone to bed. It's also why I'm up until 1am most nights. . .

Re: Assessing results of the two-engie limit on TV-VI-Dustbo
The parent manual I got said bed time WAS 4:30 for kids. Are you saying it isn't?
My 5 year old keeps trying to watch when I play during the day. Its hard enough to keep an eye on the screen and spy check enough to Spanish's liking without having to tell my son not to watch the explosive body parts.
He has decided that I shouldn't play medic anymore. He would rather see me as a heavy or sniper "because they have guns". Good news is, he has no idea just how bad I am at those 2 classes, but enjoys the fact that I now use a gun that shoots pee on other people.
I can't wait for the phone call from school that results from that.

You could stick it on German mode, where you get balloons, streamers, and party hats instead of blood or body parts. That, or always play in pyro land

Sounds like the silly gibs option would work for that: http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Gibs#Silly_gibs
