Monoculous: Hiddon item for this years Halloween event.

Monoculous, the event for this year. You get an item for clicking on the book in the link below.

I got the item. I'm also seeing weird stuff in game, like the eye on players heads and strange explosions.

So I opened the "Halloween Goodie Cauldron" (Free to open Crate) and got 2 items out of it. The "Seal Mask" and "Under Cover". I would post images but they are not on the wiki yet. The only place you can see them as of now is the in game item Man Co. catalog. I guess it's just a way to get free Halloween costumes.

The eye is the new halloween hat, the MONOCULUS. The strange explosions are the result of wearing the new badge, the Bombinomicon. Simply wearing that badge causes you to explode in a spectacular way when you get killed (albiet not a damaging explosion, it's all for effect)

What item do you get for clicking on the book? I just go to the comic page...
The cauldron is just for logging in, I'm fairly sure.

Was gonna explain the new items, but got ninja'd by Zork.

I like about half of the "gift" items this year, enough so I'm glad they can be worn outside of the event (even if it's only on full moons).
Also if you wear a full set, apparently it gives your character new lines to say. I heard some of the soldiers, about being "a robot from the future sent to take American jobs"

My foot will transform into a foot with your ass wrapped around it. Scientists have studied your ass in the future and have sent me back in time to kick it.

According to the wiki, it seems that only the Soldier, Demo, and Engy gain anything by using their full set. Soldiers get the additional voice lines, Demos can use a special "howl at the moon" taunt, and Engineers have their voice pitch raised about 145% giving them the sounds of a fly-man.

Such a shame, new lines for the medic would be cool.

Isn't the medic's actor a bit of a high cost? I recall hearing somewhere that part of the reason Meet the Medic took so long to make was that he was asking for far too much for the part or something.

Also, the Sniper's voice actor (John Patrick Lowrie) is also Ellen McLain's husband (voice actor for The Administrator and GLaDOS). I'm pretty sure he'd be willing to pitch in new lines if he's free, and his IMDB shows that he hasn't really done anything since Halo Reach in 2010.

One would think at least.

Same, though he might be referring to the cauldron that everyone gets.
