Lets hear what you do for a living.
Re: Lets hear what you do for a living.
I recently quit my job as a Customer Service Manager at a bank. Now I am looking for something new! I am so happy!

Eternally unemployed up to this point, but I'm currently attending DigiPen in the hopes of getting a job in the games industry in a few years.

Re: Lets hear what you do for a living.
Currently in my final semester of college for my BS in Mechanical Engineering.
Hopefully I can find a job in it, but if I can't (and if I can get my lazy butt in shape) I'll be joining the air force.

I graduated with a B.A. in mass comm, journalism, and am unemployed.
But I do spend a lot of time at my church helping with various video things and occasionally doing some soundboard work.

I can tell your right now that the Air Force has been having a 2 year wait, and they can help you get in shape with the recruiters if you are very serious. Should have done ROTC in college also so you could be an officer if you wanted to.One_Medic_Army wrote:Currently in my final semester of college for my BS in Mechanical Engineering.

It's very encouraging to see some vets former and still current.

Field Services Engineer for an engineering firm that has been in the bridge business for about 120 years. I'm still resident on a construction project outside Chicago (have been since April last year), but we're going to be wrapping up here soon , and moving back to New Orleans.

I thought for sure somedude was gonna say, fireman, or firestarter...
Oh well...
I am a chef. Owner and operator of a restaurant in Northern Michigan. But in my past life I was a programmer/IT guy. If you ever leased a car from General Motors, you did it with my software! Also if you ever did any banking with banks running Jack Henry software, some of my code touched your money.
P.S. I also have a picture of me with the Stanley Cup, that has nothing to do with my job, but it is cool!

Re: Lets hear what you do for a living.
Long answer or short?
Short: Coast Guard
Long: I am a Coast Guard Operations Specialist, Aviation Missions Specialist currently stationed at the Coast Guard National Capital Region Air Defense Facility. My current job is standing a Rotary Wing Air Intercept Scramble watch, on alert for any DC airspace intrusions...which we then launch a helo and intercept.
Other jobs include Tactical Systems Operator on our HC-130's doing counter narcotics, counter terrorist, law enforcement Search and Rescue and...other missions, and operations duty officer for the airstation, which meant I was in control of 8 aircraft (4 helos and 4 c-130's) responsible for all those missions above, in an area that spanned from China to California, Alaska to Australia...and Central and South America and the Carribean. I was also a flight instructor for all those jobs above...in addition to doing those jobs (when I was stationed in Hawaii)
And advanced/basic communications and Search and Rescue Instructor at the training center in Petaluma (when I was stationed in...Petaluma)
I also was a journeyman butcher (the real kind) before the CG
