Re: Braveheart
Sounds fun but unfortunately Friday nights during high school football season are a no-go for me.

Re: Braveheart
If I read the first post right, it said we were running a 10 Vs 10 match. I noticed we're at 25 already:

Probably fighting in heats and whatnot, group A fights first, group B provides backup fire, etc.Katotsu wrote:If I read the first post right, it said we were running a 10 Vs 10 match. I noticed we're at 25 already:

As for weapon choices, if I read the rules correctly, you should be able to use Ali Baba's Boots (maybe), either shield, and any melee except the Ullapool Caber. That said, I plan on going old-school demoknight, with the targe and eyelander combo.

This is hard to be cool and suave while being informative at the same time. Goddamn my coolness.
In my experience, common sense isn't too common.
Re: Braveheart
Changed the player limit to. . . .more.
BEHOLD!
Longshanks' army will be led by Katotsu
Wallace's army will be led by Peahats

It's not too late to sign up, is it? I was drunk and that gives me an excuse for missing this earlier.

Re: Braveheart
Any chance of disallowing the persuader/katana?
Personally think it would be more fun without self-healing shenanigans.
Also is the caber actually disallowed? Or was things that go boom referring to grenades/stickies?

Re: Braveheart
I would assume the caber is banned, as targe/screen + caber is far more of an i-win button than running full arabian demoknight. Even up against other chargin' targe demos with their explosive resistance, it can one-shot with it's 180 damage, plus the 95 from the initial swing and the 50-85 charge damage. Sure, useless after that, but the damage is done, and the attack often kills you and spawns you with a fresh caber soon after.One_Medic_Army wrote:Any chance of disallowing the persuader/katana?

I say leave the half-zaitoichi in, since you've got that single-stroke-battle aspect, katana vs katana encounters can be a real big deal in a melee king of the hill match. Plus, it's not hard to kill a katana demo if you can charge and swing in his face.
As for the persuader, I don't see why not. Sure, it seems a little unfair, what with it's half-charge time and ammo-heal benefits, but that never stopped me from killing them in degroot keep. Plus, a 4-head Eyelander with the boots is a far greater threat than an arabian demoknight. 235 health with boots and near scout speed is a force to be reckoned with.
