That is sad. Back in the day when it was my turn running this place DOD 1.3 was the ville. It attracted a lot of the familiar faces we see today and attracted a lot of people who even though they don't play here anymore are still friends of the ville. Like TFC before it DOD will always be in the history books as an essential part of what made the ville what it is today.

the difference being, 95% of groups that were made who they were because of DoD are no more, and we were here before DoD and here we are now after DoD.. still truckin'

I'm a little taken aback. While 1.3 was hardly played anymore it seemed like something that would stay but I am glad it will be around for fun nights. Way back in 2002 before there even was a steam, TheVille was the second DoD server I ever entered(after playing in a server for less than 5 minutes with rampant obnoxious people).

From this day forward all posts I make in TVR fun night posts will end with, "Furthermore, it is my opinion that we should play 1.3!"

1.3 brought me here back in '02 (or so).... I feel old now!

But it's true, I can't play it anymore. Just too antiquated.

The Original Saints on 1.3 will still remain my single favorite map to play. Sturm runs a close 2nd. Source maps just don't quite match up to them.
