Because it's not something I'd ever use, so I find it interesting. I also don't like all the flashy smiley ads that get attached to every email I see from Hotmail. It's also bad at rendering HTML and its overactive spam filters are a hindrance. Also, deleting accounts for inactivity is dumb. With all the better alternatives, the only reason I can think of for using it is that you want to stick to your original address.
