Kelgari's links took me to Vietnamese websites about modeling or something. Then I got a bunch of pop-ups that tried to get me to download suspicious looking software (it was not a media player plug-in).

the links I posted were to a file hosting site. it occasionally flashes full page ads at you which is what you likely saw. there should have been a continue to such and such link at the top of the screen.

Megaupload isn't a malicious site. If you are worried though, and do not have anti-virus software I would recommend Avira Antivir. At the moment it has better detection rates than most other antivirus products. I would also recommend Malware Bytes for a general anti-spyware program.
