I like that Idea. I always find RTS campaigns to be to short. Could be a good Idea

ok, I talked to my friend back from Blizzcon

This is it works. Rather than have 1 game and 2 expansion packs, they will have the following

First game
-Full Campaign Terran
-Full multiplayer

Second Game
-Full Campaign Zerg
-Additional units in multiplayer

Third Game
-Full Campaign Protoss
-additional units in multiplayer

What they mean by full campaign is rather than 15 missions for each race in a standard game, there will be like 45-50 mission for each race in one particular game. This allows them to develop the storyline much more for each race. This is better than building each race a tiny bit every expansion pack.

Yahoo, what is the difference between "Full Multiplayer" and "Additional Units..."? Do the Terran just play by themselves? and then have the Protoss and Zerg added on later?

The first game will be the vanilla one, basically the first version, all three teams with however many units.

The second game will come with probably 2 or 3 extra units per team, and the same for the third game.

Think if the Original Starcraft only came with Terran single player, and Brood War was the Zerg story line with the new units, and then they made a final one for Protoss and introduced even more units.

The difference between full multiplayer and additional units.


Full multiplayer is essentially all 3 races are there.

Once another game comes out, it will have extra units. Addons, but not actual core units. A great example would be the addition of lurkers by Brood Wars. Lurkers were not in the original, but were added in later on. Reipin has explained it properly.

Blizzard has done it again! One small video and BLAM I'm hooked. I want a feature length film by them though. OMG it would be SOOO hawt.
It's a long hard road coming to recover from World of Warcrack, but I hope you'll help me bare the load while I travel that road.

I find myself glued to each battle report video. Too bad there's only 3. Sounds like a Q1 2010 release. Which translates into Q3, 2012.
