I think you are preaching to the wrong people Rigges. Almost anyone that posts here is not going to be the ones playing Heavy for the sake of achievements when they know someone who plays Heavy all the time is being forced to play another class.

FYI the sandvich is ok...

I used it sparingly one Steel but that's not a map known for snipers and it is a pretty good map for Heavies.

I think Valve may have accomplished what it wanted with the sandvich as much as it pains me to admit it. It is definitely useable (I healed 438 health one time!) when you don't have a medic but useless with one for the most part.

I'm liking Natascha, from the sound of the wind up, to the bullets, right down to that god awful (FOR YOU!) snare. I hate having to retreat from other Heavies but hot damn, once things slow down and it gets back to just the normal Heavies, this weapon is going to be severe fun.

Yeah... I'm finding it annoying too...

I've been playing Pyro and Heavy since before the achievements came out and the flurry of achievement whores give the people who have been playing those classes for a while a bad name...

until this all dies down, I'm gonna play Sniper/Spy...

Well I wouldn't worry about it, the achievements aren'tt hat hard, at least not up until Natascha. I got her in under 5 hours of play.

The only achievement that irks me is the 1000 assists (not really), and the reverse big pharma (really), especially since I have done big pharma more then once for other people legitimately.

Doesn't surprise me. I had to play soldier for a bit last night but it only took 5 minutes before someone switched out.

P.S. If you don't normally play spy, don't come trying to backstab me. Only Yahoo got me last night. I killed the first 9 spies trying that junk on me that weren't named Yahoo, and there were many more after that :P

I can't even imagine how the free weekend is going to be, 'specially with the class limits on all the servers 'cause I think the heavies have the limit of 2-3 per server.. :afraid: I have the least amount of time played on a heavy, I have no interest in the achievements right now but just sad those career heavies we have around here have to be put aside for now for the other people who feel the need to have the achievements for a class they hardly play.

I have to agree that the sandvich is OK. I managed to heal 808 myself one time. If you don't have a pocket medic and you have some corners to duck into, it can save your butt.

I managed to get Natascha as well last night and I'm not too impressed with her yet. I like the new sound effects but with so many other heavies it's hard to get the drop on people to fully experience her strengths.

Oh, and if anyone complains because I'm playing heavy, I played it almost exclusively in competition and I want to see the new toys. So nyah!

Natascha will obviously not shine against other heavies, which you are sure to see at least 3 of.

I was rocking it last night with nat regardless though, I just didn't bother to get into close range fights with other heavies. You definitely notice the damage dropoff, but you also notice the fact that the scout or medic isn't going anywhere.

In a strong team setting this could be seriously deadly. If you don't mind retreating from heavies right now, Nat is pretty fun and useful.

Normally I play Engi, Medic, Soldier but I've been doing spy a lot more recently and I'm getting fairly decent at it (I've gotten pretty good at last point capping in Warpath), however I will say last night was heaven for me.....so many targets to backstab but which ones to choose?

I got to Medic Hobnail a bit last night (he was playing Heavy). He was quiet, so I don't know if it was having fun or not. Our snipers did have a field day on Warpath late last night vs the heavies. I was surprised N@vX was not playing Heavy, although I do know he does play a lot (or is it Kaizer ... I get confused sometimes).

Araris was getting good at getting to the last point as a spy, but I still saw you ... just next time, stand still will ya ... I almost had you so many times ... It was a tad easier with Heavy vs Heavy showdowns going on.

I will take everyones word for it that the new toys are fun ... for some reason, I got killed a lot less than normal. I attribute that to achievement hogs, as I ran into only a few regulars. I'll pass judgement once I get to face the usual Heavy's in the thick of it.

On a side note and defenitelly hijacking the thread, In regards to the free TF2 weekend, I have not seen anything. Let me know. I have a couple of friends here in CR that would make fun Villuns but they have not played TF2 yet. They've visited the site and agree with me that it is a worthwile community. I've offered my PC for their use with my ID, but they'd rather do it without me possibly hovering over their shoulder.
