Sorry but your ns2 server is nothing but a trollfest where the players have no way to kick trolls.

I take in in your opinion if there was a vote-kick function that would eliminate some of the problems you think there are?

Sorry if I was rude but I lose my care for politeness after midnight and wasting an hour attempting to play a game.

In my opinion though? Yes. At least if you want people using your server because it emptied out instantly and will always do so if anytime there is an absence of admins it becomes unplayable.

You can always use the ShoutBox on the front page if you need an admin or report the player via the HelpDesk so we can investigate and ban them.

Your money wasted on the server I guess. No one is going to stop midgame to report a player or ask for an admin. They are going to blacklist your server and never touch it again.

This tactic works very well for our TF2 servers when we have to deal with cheaters or spammers.

NS2 isn't a cheap f2p fps. When someone trolls it actually effects the game and no one will play on your server very long after that. If you can't understand that you haven't played online very much.

It also seems to work for our other online servers which don't happen to be "cheap f2p fps" games.

Another option would be to add someone like Flash or our other admins to your friend list and send them a pm. A Steam PM wouldn't take more than a moment and Flash is usually around (as am I) at the late hour you mentioned and we would be happy to help.

Votebans have a way of being abused if made available to the entire server. One of the benefits that we do offer for Gold level subscribers is the ability to initiate a vote to remove a player, so perhaps that is another option.

I'm not sure what your goal is in this thread, all you're doing is shooting down anything anyone says. We're all for constructive criticism but right now you're just being abrasive.

Trolls are a problem in any game and we do what we can to keep them in line across all the games we represent, but it's not possible to have an admin on the server 24/7. We do, however, have dozens of admins accessible through other means, and the Shoutbox and the Helpdesk have proven to be an effective means to do so for many years. If you choose not to use the resources we provide for you then I'm not sure what you expect us to do. Vote systems get abused by trolls too.

I'm sorry you've had a bad experience on our server, if you choose to not return then I hope you find a server more to your liking elsewhere.

Thank you for your concerns about our servers. If you ever decide to play on our servers again, add a few admins to your friends list. There's a good chance a few will be online when something happens.

Sorry but I will be avoiding all your servers and telling anyone and can to avoid them. From the sounds of it you guys do not truly understand what it means to run a server that is actually fun for people to play on and I think everyone that was on it last night feels the same.

This community has been around for over 10 years, we must be doing something right...

In all seriousness, people who don't play NS2 need to understand that because the game is so dependent on needing teamwork and that one person (AKA the commander) can essentially make or break a team/game, having votekick on the server is actually a good idea if we don't have admins on it.
