Aircraft have high explosive filling in their cannon rounds unless they're tank busters (frogfoot, warthog).
Helicopters don't respond well to explosions in/on them...

I wouldn't expect them to, my only concern is that the current response to the hits is extremely dramatic and doesn't seem plausible. It is unfortunately hard to explain without a video and most on youtube are full of text profanity. Given still that the rounds have explosives in them, they would still be subject to newtons laws, and the current forces being exerted far exceed their destructive capacity.
