Hello folks,

So at all the XP farms I have made, I put a looting 3 wooden sword to assist people with the "looting trick" when they throw splash potions. At the blaze spawner, the wooden sword (named Blaze XP Farm) has gone missing. If someone took it by accident, I would request it be returned so that others can use it at the spawner. I made it out of wood specifically so that it would not be appealing for people to steal.

Now if someone used it to physically kill the blazes and used it all up they need to come talk to me. I don't care that that happened, but said person needs to be told on the proper use of the sword. Again, being made out of wood it has no durability, so all the XP farm swords were not meant to be physically used against the mobs but rather to be used via the "looting trick". If you don't know what that is, please ask before using the farm next time.

These swords are meant for anyone using the farms to aid in getting more stuff. If they continue to walk or be misused, I cannot guarantee that replacements will continue to be there for people to use in the future...

I actually don't know what the "looting trick" is, could you go ahead and explain it here publicly for others who don't know either please?

If you kill with a splash potion but switch to the sword prior to it popping then the looting in applied to the kills.

It is where you throw a splash potion then before it hits the ground you quickly switching to the looting sword. The way MC works, it is as if you just killed all the mobs using looting, only it doesn't cause any wear and tear on the sword.

it wasn't me, but i can offer up my xp to create another sword(have 30+). I'm not planning on building much. I would rather run around from time to time to help out others with projects.

I had used it, not knowing of the glitch, but I didn't use it up. I thought we were to repair it once finished, so I made it back to full strength and left it in the chest. That was also the day before, so I don't think I accidentally took it with me.

Devilish...I was just at spawn, in the storage room, sorting donated materials. Your sword is in the donations chest...I believe it's yours anyhow.
Someone probably walked off with it by accident.

Well, hooray, we got the sword back. It was a moderate inconvenience, but much less of an inconvenience than having to make a new one.

I would suggest ample signage indicating that people should ask for help if it's their first time to any of these grinders. A condensed set of rules laid out in a common fashion (like, ringed in red wool to the left of the entry) may also be nice -- that way, people always know where to look and what to look for when entering a contraption, and may even be queued that they -are- entering a contraption.

sweet, yeah like quandary said, it wasn't a big deal, I just wanted to make sure that people knew what was up since it is obviously highly convoluted
