A few brave villuns and I have managed to find a few horses and have breed them at spawn and have begun experimenting on breeding the best horse as horses seem to have random health, speed and jump height stats. In general they're a fun mob to play around with since they make long distance land travel easy.

Looks like some good stuff! Kind of bummed about the health and potion nerfs, but we will see how it pans out. I'm glad the new launcher has the ability to run multiple versions now so I can still log into my bukkit server.

My Horse died in a freak rail accident according to a sign left where I had him tethered in the Nether

RIP Trigger, I hardly knew ya!

On the good news front I bred a new horse at spawn, named it Trigger II and rode him home instead of using the Nether, he is safely tucked away in my temporary horse barn until I can build a better one.

JD, it was so sad!!
My minecart passed right by and then here came Xorvious, all willy nilly and reckless!
Your horse, thinking this looked like great fun, jumped into the cart! Alas, it was too
much for the little iron cart and it careened into a wall, trapping poor Trigger.

Xor and I tried to get him out, cut him loose or break the cart and we only succeeded
in making the situation worse.
We put his saddle and tether in your chest. Then gave him a proper burial and respect
he deserved.
Such a sad day...

I've had some close calls with creepers and my horse Charlie but so far he's lived and he's the best wild horse we've found. I'm offering 3 wither skulls to anyone who can give me some diamond horse armor

Good news is I found some donkeys near Potato's place along with a lot of horses.

Bad news is when I tried to use a lead to get one to spawn, it got killed as I was fighting off zombies and creepers swarming me at night because I thought I could make it back before dusk :/

lol yeah the big set of plains that is far west of spawn (where my character is currently on the google map) is all fresh spawned plains which is only about 150ish meters away from my nether gate at my Farpoint Station (which is at the corner of the desert and the snow biome near those plains).

Just rode 2 donkeys to spawn and bred a mule for myself. They're in the general horse pen for anyone who wants to breed a mule.
