The security researcher who walked away with $10,000 yesterday by hacking a MacBook Air in less than two minutes said he chose to attack Apple Inc.'s operating system for one simple reason.

"It was the easiest one of the three," said Charlie Miller, an analyst at Independent Security Evaluators (ISE), a Baltimore-based security consultancy. "We wanted to spend as little time as possible coming up with an exploit, so we picked Mac OS X."

LOL he popped the box from an exploit in safari.

I'm not a mac fan by any means but it was not fair really.

The hacker already had the exploit code uploaded to his website. All he had to do was open the page in safari.

I disagree with that part Ben, others had the same time frame and head start to do this. So I would say it was fair.. But the 2 min hack is a little misleading.

Yeah, I heard he spent two months building the 'hack'.

Of course, they found Linux/Unix to be 'unbreakable'...

In other news, I can't play TF2 on a Mac or Linux effectively, anyway, so what's the point?

Well OSX is by far easier to hack than Vista both systems were actually hacked through a java exploit which then overrode the browser. No one bothered to hack Linux because no one cares. Who would care if linux was hacked? While Vista and OSX claim to be the most secure operating system. Wouldn't you rather take the self proclaimed King of his pedistool?

Exactly.
